Africa – a continent full of richness, but for many reasons, is mostly portrayed as a continent filled with poverty and misery and associated with slavery. It is a continent filled with 52 countries and with heart-warming cultures that is rarely displayed in a positive light in the media.

I believe that every country on this earth has something beautiful for the world to see, but unfortunately, most often we only see what the media tells us to see. Because we are controlled by the media, we tend to focus on specific nations who we are trained to believe can provide us with sun, beautiful beaches and warm people. But like I said, every country in on this earth has something beautiful for the world to see. Here is ten African countries that offer everything from great weather to beautiful beaches.

Sao Tomé and Principe

This Portuguese-speaking island is located off the western coast of Africa straddling the equator. This beautiful island is a “hidden treasure” with beautiful nature.

Réunion

This French island that is located in the Indian Ocean east of Madagascar has breathtaking scenery. With a population of only 800,000, this island has become a dream destination for many people considers it to be a mini-Hawaii. Due to the culture mix, Réunion has a Creole, African, Indian, Chinese and French Heritage.

Located just off the southeast coast of Africa, this nation is the size of Ukraine. Called the “big red island” due to the red soils, this island is mostly known for its wildlife.

Like many countries in Africa, Namibia offers great wildlife. This country is located in southwest Africa and has some of the continent weirdest but amazing scenery that will spark a curiosity.

The tiny island of Mumbo is truly a super small island, which has never been populated! The island is so small that it can only take up 14 people at a time making it a dream for honeymooners. Though it is small, what it lack in size, Mumbo makes up in crystal clear waters and beautiful beaches.

Cape Verde

This 10-island archipelago is located 500 meter off the coast of Senegal and is also knows as Africa’s Caribbean. Cap Verde has a mixture of African, Portuguese and Brazilian influences making it a diverse island. Santiago is the largest island of Cap Verde and carries half of the island’s population.

Many people have never heard of this island nation in the Indian Ocean. It is located at the northeast end of Mozambique and has a population of circa 700,000. Comoros is so far out in the Indian Ocean making it a perfect place simply relax.

Mauritius is a dream! It is a small island in the Indian Ocean east of Madagascar and southeast of the Seychelles and is known for its beaches and reefs.

Zanzibar

With gorgeous white sand beaches, it’s not wonder Zanzibar is Africa’s top destination. This small island is located in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Tanzania and is home to 1,3 million people. The beautiful offers a great mix of people thanks to its African, Indian and Arab influences.

Offering some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, this island is a favourite amongst many people. Located in the Indian Ocean off East Africa, this island offer affordable flight tickets to a colorful paradise. The Seychelles consists of 155 islands with Mahé being the largest one.
