One of the biggest questions Fixer Upper fans have is how to get Chip and Joanna Gaines to remodel their house if they live outside Waco, TX. Sadly, the answer is they can’t. The in-demand HGTV couple only works within 30 minutes of Waco, so unless you’re a current or future Wacoan and willing to appear on an episode of Fixer Upper — they’re only taking on-air remodels at the moment — you won’t be able to get the full Magnolia Homes design treatment.

“Our kids are young, so until they’re all out of the house and off to college, Waco is where we’re going to base our renovation business,” Joanna said in a recent Facebook Live QA she hosted with Chip. But she says that she’s open to exploring other cities once her kids are grown. Chip adds that there are some practical considerations since their team and vendors are all based in Waco. “The complications that would exist for us to take our business to your family and your town would throw things out of kilter pretty drastically, so we’ve certainly considered it but it just doesn’t make a lot of sense,” he explains.

Before you get too disappointed, there are many ways you can get the Fixer Upper experience right in your hometown. Check them out below, and then get to creating your own Fixer Upper dream home.

1. Shop Magnolia Market Online

Joanna might not be able to personally pick and style every piece of decor in your home, but she has chosen all the charming pieces for sale in her online store, Magnolia Market. It’s stocked with classic Fixer Upper pieces, including aged wooden signs, retro cake stands, whitewashed dinnerware, and industrial metal racks.

2. Cover Your Walls With Magnolia Homes Paint

If Chip and Joanna could demo your house, it’s a guarantee that they would paint your walls in one of the shabby-chic neutrals that have become Fixer Upper signatures. Even without their guidances, you can pick from a curated selection of paint colors straight off the TV show. That’s because Joanna has released a gorgeous collection of 25 timeless shades every vintage-Americana fan is going to love.

3. Decorate With Magnolia Furniture

When a furniture idea for a reno comes to Joanna on Fixer Upper, she sketches it out on paper and has carpenter Clint Harper bring it to life. While you can’t have Clint whip up custom pieces for you, you can still fill your home with Joanna’s irresistible designs by ordering from her Magnolia Homes Furniture Collection. It includes upholstered and wood furniture in styles ranging from farmhouse to French inspired, sure to infuse your house with Fixer Upper style.

4. Enter Joanna’s Virtual Room Design Giveaway

An actual custom interior design from Joanna is possible when you enter her recently launched room makeover giveaway on Instagram. Sure, it’s only one room and she won’t actually be stepping foot in your abode, but she will be creating a custom-style plan for either your bedroom or living room and picking out a rug, paint, and piece of her furniture just for your space.
