Consulting Engineering Firm Will Use Deltek’s Cloud ERP Solution for Improved Project Management and Tight Compliance as its Business Expands.

Deltek, Inc., the leading global provider of enterprise software and information solutions for government contractors and professional services firms, today announced that KC Engineering and Land Surveying, P.C. (KCE) has selected Deltek First as its ERP solution. KCE, a diversified, multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm headquartered in New York, will use Deltek First to manage projects more efficiently and to maintain government compliance, while taking advantage of the flexibility and low costs of a cloud delivery model.

KCE provides both public and private sector clients with a comprehensive range of services including civil and structural engineering, construction and inspection management, and surveying and mapping, as well as IT services.

Prior to its selection of Deltek First, KCE was using a Deltek legacy ERP system. After rapidly expanding over the past four years with additional growth on the horizon, KCE needed an ERP system that could help it stay compliant with the government and give every employee – from project managers to the CEO – visibility into project health at every level through a secure solution accessible from anywhere. After looking at three potential systems, KCE selected Deltek First because of its security and flexibility, as well as its ability to give project managers the control they need to profitably execute projects.

As KCE grows its business, the firm will aggressively take on more work as a prime consultant, while subcontracting more work out to partners. Currently, prime work constitutes up to 70% of its contracts – making it necessary to monitor work performed by subcontractors. With Deltek in place, KCE will have the visibility and peace of mind it needs when hiring and monitoring its network of subcontracting partners.

“As a business, we wanted to make a smart decision in our ERP investment so we investigated all of our options. But when looking at the competitive landscape, nothing came close to what Deltek could offer us. Other solutions had some of the same elements, but not the full package,” said Raj Ravilla, Owner of KC Engineering and Land Surveying, P.C. “In addition to giving us the project visibility and compliance that we need, Deltek First is in the cloud – so it’s a secure solution accessible from anywhere. Our employees will now be able to access Deltek from their smart phones, laptops and desktops – essentially any device, from any location, 24/7. No other option gave us that much security and flexibility.”

“Deltek First will provide KCE with everything it needs in one secure platform – from the mobile capabilities such as time keeping on-the-go in remote locations and on construction sites, to full visibility into critical project data and cash flow management,” said Tom Mazich, Deltek’s Executive VP and General Manager – GovCon. “We offer cloud solutions tailor-made for government contractors and other project-based firms like KCE, and we look forward to continuing our long-term relationship with KCE as the company takes it to the next level.”
