Lincoln – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts announced the appointment of retired judge Randall L. Rehmeier of Nebraska City to the Nebraska Board of Parole.

From 1990-2013, Rehmeier served as a District Court Judge for the 2nd Judicial District of the State of Nebraska.

Previously, he served as a County Court Judge for the 2nd Judicial District of the State of Nebraska, a general practice attorney at Wellensiek and Rehmeier Law Firm in Nebraska City, and County Attorney for the Otoe County Attorney’s Office in Nebraska City.

“It’s an honor to serve the State of Nebraska in this new role,” said Randall Rehmeier. “The work of the Parole Board is important to protecting the public safety of our citizens and to ensuring that sentences and sentencing laws are properly applied.”

Rehmeier graduated from Weeping Water High School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Rehmeier’s term began January 22, 2015 and expires on September 9, 2017. His annual salary will be $77,223.

The Nebraska Board of Parole is a five-member board which reviews the status of criminal offenders, determines when to grant parole, and sets the conditions of parole.

Rehmeier’s appointment fills one of three vacancies on the board.
