BACOLOD City – BonChon Chicken, the well-loved crispy chicken phenomenon, officially opened on Sept. 18 at the North Wing of SM City Bacolod.

It will soon open in Iloilo City at the end of the year or in the first quarter of 2016, said Anna Ramos, BonChon chief executive officer.

Alexander Scott Tan, BonChon marketing director, said Bacolod is their 91st branch in the country.

BonChon, which means “my hometown” in Korean, serves Korean fried chicken that is crispy yet light and non-greasy. It has hot moist juicy meat, and sauced with its addicting soy garlic, spicy, or honey citrus glaze, said Tan.

From its original home in Seoul, BonChon opened branches in New York where its crispy chicken secret earned major media and industry accolades. Its similar success in other US cities such as San Francisco, Boston, Virginia, and New Jersey set the stage for the restaurant chain’s international expansion in Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta and Singapore.

In its four years of operations in the Philippines, BonChon has grown 90 stores in the country, with a strong presence in key cities such as Cebu, Davao, Baguio, General Santos City, Cagayan de Oro, Boracay and Bacolod.

The company is on its way to realizing its vision of having BonChon in every key city in the country. It remains steadfast in its commitment to serve fresh, innovative food at reasonable prices, delivering much value to its growing customers./PN
