Awards season has officially kicked off with Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony, and the beauty looks on the red carpet did not disappoint. From bold hairstyles to glowing skin to surprising pops of color, celebs brought the perfect mix of elegance and fun to their beauty looks. Keep reading for our top looks of the night and discover products they used!
JLo stepped out of her comfort zone for a refreshingly new look. She still embodied glamour, but rather than her typical sparkle and glow, she went for a more refined Old Hollywood look. Her elegant hair was created by Lorenzo Martin and her makeup was done by the iconic Mary Phillips. For her unique lip color, Phillips mixed three shades of L’Oreal’s new Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss: Rouge Envy, Nude Allude and Forbidden Kiss.
Rooney Mara’s unique braid, by stylist Adir Abergel, gave off a futuristic, Star Wars-like vibe. Rooney really stays true to her own style, and never looks quite like anyone else on the red carpet. Leave it to her to make a braid on the red carpet totally badass.

Alicia Vikander made the right call by pulling her hair up into an updo to show off the sophisticated, high neckline of her gown. Hairstylist Chris Naselli created this twisted updo that somehow feels both retro and modern. As for her romantic and minimal makeup, it was done by legendary Charlotte Tilbury herself using her own phenomenal line of products. She used the Beach Stick in Las Salinas for the pop of pink on her cheeks and Walk of Shame on her lips.
Eva Longoria manages to make an updo, that would look matronly on some, incredibly sexy. Thanks to dramatic eye makeup, lots of lashes and a perfect pink lip, her look is the perfect combination of sophisticated and sultry.
From her wavy lob to smoky eyes, everything about Lily James’ look was trendy and chic. The starlet’s makeup artist, Jenn Streicher, used St. Tropez’s Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil to make her skin glow.
Katy Perry brought some pop star fun to the red carpet with her cheeky bouffant hairstyle. Wondering how to get that crazy volume? The singer admitted to wearing a Bumpit! on the red carpet! FYI, if you want to get the look, you can buy one on Amazon for under four dollars.
Brie Larson proved that minimalism doesn’t mean washed out or boring on her winning night. From her head to her toes, she looked like a golden statue herself – her makeup artist, Rachel Goodwin, applied Chanel’s Soleil Tan de Chanel Illuminating Fluid all over her body for that glow.. She kept her makeup monochromatic, natural and neutral, so as not to compete with her glimmering, gold gown.
Lady Gaga channeled Marilyn Monroe and looked so elegant. Long gone are the days of her showing up on the carpet dressed in raw meat. Her makeup artist, Sarah Tanno, said the look was Sophia Loren-inspired, and while that’s evident as well, those platinum blonde locks just scream Monroe. Either way, love Gaga’s new sophisticated vibe – can’t wait to see what she has in store next.
Laverne Cox knows how to work a red carpet – she exudes confidence and glamour. Her bold lip is the perfect complement to her sweeping white gown. It was a great call to pull her hair back into a loose chignon. Everything about this look is on point.

Gina Rodriguez looked like a princess on the Golden Globes red carpet. Her look was classically pretty and feminine. If you want to emulate her understated nude lip (a smart choice with her bold gown), use Maybelline’s Nude Embrace.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (who announced her engagement on the red carpet!) was a bronzed bombshell. Her beachy waves and golden glow were classically sexy. Her makeup artist, Monika Blunder, revealed the key ingredient to her look: Dior Glow Maximizer Primer.
Winner Taraji P. Henson’s look was understated, yet beautiful. For her eyes, her makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff used two neutral shadows: L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Eyeshadow in Sunset Seine and Cafe Au Lait. A pretty big departure from the over-the-top looks her Empire character favors.
Zendaya is a fashion/beauty chameleon. She’s always poised, interesting and daring on the red carpet – a true style star. Last night was no exception. Her hair was pulled behind her ears to show off her gorgeous earrings, and she kept her makeup fresh and simple to allow her dress to shine.
Kate Bosworth has one of the most flawless, radiant complexions in Hollywood. Her skin is like porcelain. For last night’s Golden Globes, makeup artist Pati Dubroff used Laura Mercier’s Candleglow to enhance her luminous glow.
Many people veer away from matching their eyeshadow to their dress, but Olivia Wilde shows that with the right amount of confidence it can be a bold and beautiful look. Her unapologetic burgundy shadow completely pulls her look together. To get the look, use Kat Von D’s Metal Crush in Raw Power – this eyeshadow is so pigmented and stunning. It’s a must-have if you want to amazingly metallic lids.
Amber Heard’s shimmering pink lids and red lip perfectly played off her floral Gucci gown. Her makeup artist, Melanie Inglessis, Sisley’s Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick in L33 for her gorgeous crimson pout.
Jennifer Lawrence’s makeup last night was absolutely radiant. She’s always a stunner, but her makeup was, in my opinion, the best it ever looked last night. It should come as no surprise that she was rocking both a Dior dress and Dior makeup – she is the face of the brand, after all. Her lipstick was Dior Addict, a sheer, gel-like formula that gives a shiny look with a subtle pop of color.
