Happy Friday! It’s been an eventful week around here with new projects, installations, and presentations. Yesterday, one of the girls in the office brought her Goldendoodle over to meet Tate since he is shy and could use some fellow puppy friends. It was a fun respite during the work day to see the pups play. Talk about a good stress reliever! I am also on the cusp of some very exciting new things that I can’t wait to share with you! A lot of this has been in the works for years, so it is incredible for it to start coming to fruition. Anyhow, I’m happy it’s Friday and am looking forward to reflecting on everything over the weekend. Here’s what has been on my radar recently.

Design: A couple of years ago, I went to an intimate party at Kathryn Ireland’s beautiful, cozy home in Santa Monica. It was so iconic because it was the epitome of Kathryn’s style and had appeared on Million Dollar Decorators, so when Kathryn sold it last year, I am sure everyone wondered what her next house would be like. Well, Kathryn’s new house, a cottage in Venice Beach that is as charming as her old house is featured in the new issue of Veranda, so be sure to check it out!

Style: I’m sure you’ve all heard of the “it accessory”, Les Bonbons earrings by the chic Rebecca de Ravenel. Rebecca recently expanded her line to include new styles of earrings as well as the addition of necklaces and soon– bags and shirt dresses!

Watch: Fabian and I recently started watching and have quickly become obsessed with Schitt’s Creek. I remember seeing the promos for it when the show started three seasons ago, but for whatever reason, I hadn’t bothered to tune in. Fast forward to a weekend ago when we binge watched the first season. Since then, we have gotten up to speed and are on track with season 3 which is currently airing. It is a hilarious, brilliantly written and acted satire starring Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy who co-writes the series with his equally funny son, Dan Levy. It is a must watch for anyone who loves the old Christopher Guest movies like Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show. You can watch the trailer for season 1 here and dive in On Demand or on Netflix and Amazon.

Listen: I’ve also started watching the new HBO series, Big Little Lies and am loving the soul-driven, haunting song that plays during the opening. The song is called “Cold Little Heart” by Michael Kiwanuka and you can listen to it here.

Eat: I really enjoy cooking, especially since redoing our kitchen as I shared in yesterday’s post. I usually cook more elaborate meals on Sundays, but during the week, we typically prefer to cook something healthy, quick, but still delicious. Back in September, I attended a KitchenAid retreat in Seattle and received a great swag bag that included the most delicious salmon rub by one of Seattle’s biggest celebrity chefs, Tom Douglas. We use the Tom Douglas Rub with Love according to his directions which couldn’t be simpler. We like to use Wild Sockeye Salmon filets which we coat with one teaspoon on each side then we cook it on the stovetop with a little olive oil for about 5 minutes on either side. The result is unbelievably flavorful since the rub is made with brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and thyme. Each teaspoon only has 10 calories, so it’s perfect for a quick, healthy, flavorful meal! I like to serve it with green beans and wild rice, but it would be great on a salad, too.

Read: I recently received and read The Art of Elegance by Marshall Watson, a beautiful design tome showcasing Watson’s European-influenced style. The book showcases projects from Napa Valley to The Hamptons and several places in between and is filled with exquisite details. The book officially goes on sale on Tuesday, but you can preorder here.

Shop: With the weather being as beautiful as it has, I can’t help but think about my spring and summer wardrobe. There is nothing chicer than a pair of flat leather sandals. I’m currently loving the gladiator-inspired gold Tory Burch Patos Sandal and the  Patos Ankle Strap Sandal in blond.

Have a wonderful weekend!
