The City of West Palm Beach Department of Parks and Recreation offers Creative Brain Art Classes for kids and teens at South Olive Community Center, 345 Summa Street.  All supplies are included.

Art education at South Olive Community Center is available, affordable, and necessary as a building block towards your child’s education as well as expanding your own.  Learning to create and appreciate visual aesthetics is more important than ever and in the Creative Brain Art classes, instructor Shannon Rose will make learning lots of fun.

Creative Brain Jr., for 6 – 12 year olds, is where your child will learn about colors that make them want to dance and art that creates movement and rhythm. Your child will make beautiful masterpieces on canvas in group projects and will learn to control their range of motion in their individual works of art. Come dressed to move and mess. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. The next 4 week session will be held on April 11.  $50 for city residents; $64 for non-residents for four classes.

Creative Brain, for ages 12 – 15, will further develop color theory knowledge as students create the prefect shade from scratch. Investigate your findings by creating art with artists like Mondrian and cubist painter Picasso—our guides. Group and individual projects will teach shape, line, and form.  Classes are held on Thursdays from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. The next 4 week session will be held on April 13. $50 for city residents; $64 for non-residents for four classes.

Creative Brain 3D is a class for all ages where you will learn the art of ceramics as you dig into the elements of art and sculpture. Explore light, cast shadow, and negating positive space while tapping into your three dimensional skills.  Creative Brain 3D is held Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.  The next 4 week session will be held on April 15. $50 for city residents; $64 for non-residents for four classes.
