SUMMER IN PARADISE CELEBRATION

Your summer plans are sure to get even hotter with the City of West Palm Beach’s popular Summer in Paradise (S.I.P), a sizzlin’ celebration of free and amazing interactive art, music and family fun all summer long. The City is bursting with free family festivities including favorites like Screen on the Green, a movie theatre under the stars, Glow Fore It mini golf, a wave of waterfront activities as well as two rockin’ concert series: Sunday on the Waterfront and Clematis by Night.

Additional highlights planned during this summer of fun include rockin’ free community events in Northwood Village including Art Night Out, Art Walk and monthly food truck events. INTERACTIVE ART: LOS TROMPOS

Final Month of Los Trompos

Thursday, June 2, 2016 – August 28, 2016; 10 a.m.-10 p.m. FREE

West Palm Beach Waterfront, Great Lawn

The Waterfront will be a kaleidoscope of color and movement all summer long with “Los Trompos” (Spinning Tops). This playful and colorful art installation that guests can take a spin on consists of 20, three-dimensional larger-than-life structures inspired by the internationally known spinning top toy. Each top has a unique shape inspired by nature and traditional Latin American design, architecture and folk art. Presented by City of West Palm Beach Art in Public Places, this free art installation brightens the Great Lawn on the West Palm Beach Waterfront daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Wpb.org/events for details.

GLOW FORE IT MINI GOLF

Intracoastal Waterway

Open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. through August 28th

Guests can play 9 holes of glow-in-the-dark mini golf on the Intracoastal Waterway with Glow FORE it Mini Golf through August 28. Cost: $2.50 per person per round.

CBN21: CELEBRATING 21 YEARS OF FUN

June 2, 2016 – August 25, 2016; 6-10 p.m. FREE

West Palm Beach Waterfront

The Summer of Fun continues as West Palm’s favorite Thursday night tradition proves why it has been the “hot spot to chill” for twenty plus years. During Clematis by Night, guests will enjoy two bands and $2 domestic drafts (with purchase of commemorative cup) every Thursday throughout the summer.

This free weekly outdoor concert series features live performances by the area’s best bands, food and drink specials and an unmatched atmosphere. Wpb.org/events for details.

Aug. 4                   Maggie Baugh with Opener Kristen Spencer (Country)

Maggie Baugh is a 16 year-old, South Florida-based county music sensation who has played fiddle onstage with Neal McCoy and Charlie Daniels Band, and has opened for greats like Ashley Monroe, Neal McCoy, Cole Swindell and more. Aug. 11                 Orange Sunshine (1960’s Pop) with Opener Wild Bill and the Thrill (1950-60’s)

Aug. 18                 The Justin Enco Band (Rock) with Opener Krazy Train (Rock)

The Justin Enco Band is a diverse and creative rock band in South Florida. Their rock sound with a few twists will please any crowd! Aug. 25                 Valerie Tyson Band (R&B/Top 40) with Opener IndiGo The Band (R&B/Pop)

The Valerie Tyson Band new line-up is a perfect blend of old and new providing music from Today’s Top 40, Jazz, Classic Rock, Reggae and Contemporary. Free outdoor movie featuring Jurassic World in 3D, rated PG-13. In this science fiction film, a new theme park is built on the original site of Jurassic Park after 10 years of operation to re-spark visitors’ interest. The scientists on the park genetically engineer a new breed of dinosaur, which causes trouble. Join us to find out if the heroes make it off the island! Station to Station (David Bowie Tribute)

Station To Station carries on the legacy and amazing music, fashion statements and magic made by iconic rock legend David Bowie. HISTORIC NORTHWEST RENAISSANCE BUSINESS MIXER

The City of West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency will host a business mixer in celebration of National Black Business Month to bring awareness to the revitalization of the Northwest business community and opportunities available. Current business owners, investors and entrepreneurs are invited to learn about expanding, relocating, or opening a new business in this historically black community located just northwest of downtown West Palm Beach.
