Residents and visitors are encouraged to make plans, donn their shades and get ready for the start of The City of West Palm Beach’s popular SUMMER IN PARADISE (S.I.P), a sizzlin’ celebration of art, music, movies and FREE family fun all summer long. Exciting features during this summer’s tropical-themed S.I.P include:

A FREE CONCERT WITH COUNTRY SUPERSTARS

The free concert will also feature electrifying performances by Bobby McClendon, recognized by Country Weekly Magazine for his high energy live performances, and the Samantha Russell Band, voted the #1 country band in South Florida. Guests will also enjoy food and drink specials, fun activities such as life-sized games of foosball and human bowling, an obstacle course and the opportunity to build a giant tower of Jenga-style blocks. The Summer in Paradise kickoff event is located at the Meyer Amphitheatre, 104 Datura Street in West Palm Beach.

ALL NEW INTERACTIVE ART ON THE WATERFRONT

The Waterfront will be a kaleidoscope of color and movement all summer long when “Los Trompos” (Spinning Tops), makes its Florida debut beginning Thursday, June 2, 2016 and continuing through August 28, 2016. This playful and colorful art installation that guests can take a spin on consists of 20, three-dimensional larger-than-life structures inspired by the internationally known spinning top toy.  Contemporary Mexican designers, Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena created this interactive installation that invites participants to engage with the individual spinning tops and collaborate together to spin the works and bring “Los Trompos” to life. Each top has a unique shape inspired by nature and traditional Latin American design, architecture and folk art. This free art installation brightens the Great Lawn on the West Palm Beach Waterfront daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

FAMILY FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES

Guests can play 9 holes of glow-in-the-dark mini golf on the Intracoastal Waterway with Glow FORE it Mini Golf beginning June 2, 2016. Cost: $2.50 per person per round.  Open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
