Bishopsgate runs through the middle of The City of London – the capital’s financial district, rich with history and home to the Bank of England. As an area that plays home to the world’s most affluent banks and businesses, you can also find some of the best places to eat in London – our team have chosen some of our favourites near the Pall Mall Barbers City of London barbershop in Bishopsgate on Houndsditch.

The Best Places to Eat in Bishopsgate

Duck & Waffle

Located on the 40th floor of 110 Bishopsgate, Duck & Waffle has incredible views over the city and is sure to impress. Make sure you try our favourite, the signature dish – duck leg confit, duck egg and mustard maple syrup over a sweet waffle base. Delicious.

Pitt Cue

We love a tale of entrepreneurial spirit at Pall Mall Barbers – Pitt Cue started life as a food truck on the Southbank, before becoming a full blown restaurant and bar stocked with ‘underdog’ spirits. Every time we go there’s something new and unexpected to try – their specialities are pork and grills, and the specials menu updates daily.

Jamie’s Wine Bar and Restaurant

One of the best known wine bars, Jamie’s have locations throughout the City of London itself. Our favourite spot for a business lunch – the Pall Mall Barbers team love to tuck in to one of their excellent burgers and pair it with a bottle from their excellently curated and reasonably priced wine list.

Chamberlain’s

Situated in the historic Leadenhall Market, Chamberlain’s is a “must experience” for its location alone – opened in 2001 by a historic family of seafood suppliers based at Billingsgate market, they place faultless service at the forefront alongside perfectly executed British dishes. Fish, meat and game is sourced ethically and sustainably, with an obsession on quality: Chamberlain’s produce everything possible themselves, including baking bread twice daily, brewing vinegar and making ketchup.

Blixen

Located in Spitalfield’s, Blixen offers a fantastic brunch menu for those morning meetings, and has outdoor seating – but most importantly under cover in an attractive terrace, meaning you can be safe from the changing British weather. They do lunch and dinner too, of course, but you’d be missing out on their pancakes (which we can’t get enough of).

New Street Grill

Offering al fresco dining on their covered and heated terrace, the New Street Grill offers an extensive wine list with over 500 varieties, which we could spend hours poring over, and delicious charcoal-grilled steaks. Then we top the night off with a cocktail in the adjoining Old Bengal Bar.

Omnino

For when nothing but steak will do, we head up to Omnino on Leadenhall Street. Exquisite cuts of Argentine and Wagyu beef are served the way they should be – perhaps ensure your dining partners aren’t vegetarian, though. The set menu represents great value for money, and includes 4 courses, a cocktail, and a glass of port.

Sushisamba

High above London on the 38th and 39th floors of 110 Bishopsgate, Sushisamba has the highest outdoor dining terrace in Europe with incredible sights over the city, which we recommend visiting on long summer nights. Blending the cultures and cuisines of Japan, Peru and Brazil, they serve South American twists on sushi dishes and the finest Kobe beef.

Cinnamon Kitchen

Cinnamon Kitchen offers ‘modern and evolved’ Indian dining in the heart of the City. Executive Chef Vivek Singh works tirelessly to create a seasonal menu full of new takes on classic dishes – and with every dish a mouth-watering delight, food envy is inevitable. We make sure to stop into Anise Bar for a pre-dinner cocktail, too.

Fish Market

Part of the Old Bengal Warehouse, full of fantastic dining venues, the Fish Market is the place to go for seafood lovers in the Bishopsgate area. Friendly service and sustainably sourced fish are top of the menu. We normally opt for the shellfish platter to share, and add lobster if we’re looking to impress.

Pall Mall Barbers Bishopsgate branch can be found at 123 Houndsditch, in the heart of the City of London. Surrounded by superb restaurants and some of the most incredible modern architecture in the world, Bishopsgate runs near to Liverpool Street station, a major transport hub – making it an easy to get to, with nearby Bank, Aldgate and Aldgate East tube stations. If you’re on the Overground, Bishopsgate is just a short walk from Shoreditch High Street. Book Now
