You can make homemade jello, gummies, smoothies, panna cotta, and dozens of other recipes using gelatin, and it’s a great way to get gelatin into the bellies of kids and other family members who might not be willing to drink bone broth.

1. Paleo Green Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

This smoothie has all the flavors of a delicious pumpkin pie, but it’s actually a nutrient-rich green drink featuring spinach, fresh pumpkin puree, dates, full fat coconut milk, cinnamon, ginger, honey, and a bit of gelatin for extra protein, vitamins, and benefits for your hair, skin, and nails.

2. Rhubarb Bars

These beautiful pink little bars are made from fresh rhubarb, honey, gelatin, coconut flour, coconut milk, coconut oil, and maple syrup. The gelatin helps the bar holds its shape, and even though they’re still definitely in the “treat” categories of foods, you’ll also be getting those gelatin goodies.

3. Berry Tropical Smoothie Bowl

I love smoothie bowls, because you can throw in a handful of non-blended ingredients and the whole thing feels so much heartier. This version uses mixed berries, passion fruit, coconut milk, collagen peptides, banana, chia, coconut flakes, and lemon juice.

4. Good for Your Tummy Mango Gummies

These little gummies are made from pureed mango, lime juice, pineapple juice, and gelatin. They’re sweet, bouncy, made without any refined sugar, and they’re a great source of the proteins and nutrients that make gelatin so great for healing skin, nails, and your digestive tract.

5. Paleo Strawberry Basil Jello

I was a huge fan of homemade jello as a kid, but my sister and I only ever used the boxed mixes with dyes and other artificial ingredients. Can you even really call those homemade? Try this version instead with pureed fruit, coconut cream, raw honey, basil leaves, and gelatin.

6. Orange and Cranberry Jellies

Love those cranberry orange snacks and want to make them even more fancy and holiday-perfect? Try this recipe, which also involves vanilla bean, star anise, apple cider, and shredded coconut to make these look frosted with snow.

7. Real Raspberry Applesauce Gelatin

This snack or dessert (or even breakfast!) is a cross between applesauce and a gelatin treat. It’s made with fruit juice, gelatin, frozen raspberries, and unsweetened applesauce. In small jars, these would be absolutely perfectly for lunchboxes or even work snacks!

8. Sago At Gulaman

This drink is a Filipino snack made from simple syrup or vanilla, tapioca pearls, and gelatin. You can use it as a refresher in warmer months, knowing that despite the sweetness, you’re still getting the benefits of gelatin into your body. Good plan, right?

9. Cranberry Orange Gelatin Gummies

These gummies remind me of Thanksgiving and the cranberry-orange relish I always make. They’re made with cranberry juice, orange juice, lemon juice, orange zest, honey, and grass-fed gelatin. These are perfect little protein snacks for your belly.

10. Blueberry White Chocolate Panna Cotta

Panna cotta is a traditional Italian dessert that’s easy to make paleo, and a great choice because you can make it with very little sweetener, full fat coconut milk, and gelatin so it offers nutrients as well. This one is made with cacao butter, vanilla, and xylitol, but you could also use honey.

11. Raspberry Probiotic Gelatin

This gelatin snack is high in vitamin C and also made with kombucha, which means it’s totally perfect for sick kiddos and grown-ups alike. Sweeten it with a bit of stevia to keep it sugar-free, and change the flavor and color depending on what kind of kombucha you use.

12. Raspberry Rose Gummies

These gummies are sophisticated and elegant, yet still bouncy, jiggly, and fun. You’ll need fresh raspberries, coconut milk, maple syrup, grass-fed gelatin, and rose water. They sort of remind me a little bit of Turkish Delight with the rose flavor, but of course the texture isn’t quite the same.

13. Gut Healing Gummy Snacks

These snacks are perfect for people (especially kids) who aren’t so keen on bone broth. They’ll still be getting the gut-healing benefits of gelatin, but in a fruity gummy snack made from lemon juice and blueberries instead of a meaty broth.

14. Blackberry Ice Cream

I almost always add at least a little bit of gelatin to my ice cream recipes. Want to know why? Gelatin is the secret to the smoothest, creamiest ice cream you can possible make without a commercial-grade ice cream maker. No little ice crystals! And extra nutritious, too.

15. Early Morning Protein Jolt

This morning smoothie is everything you want first thing in the morning: it’s got coffee, protein in the form of gelatin and nut or seed butter, chia seeds, avocado or healthy fat, coconut oil, and other ingredients that’ll give you a sweet breakfast, coffee, and protein as well as healthy fats all in one drink.

16. Cinnamon Paleo Marshmallows

These marshmallows are perfectly paleo and have a lovely cinnamon vanilla flavor. They’re made with gelatin, honey, maple syrup, vanilla, arrowroot powder, cinnamon, and a touch of sea salt. Definitely make these on a dry day, as humidity can mess up the recipe.

17. Easy Homemade Gelatin Squares

If you came here just looking for a simple homemade gelatin recipe to replace your kids artificial Jello cups, this is your recipe. Made with just fruit juice, water, and gelatin, this is a snack or dessert you can change the flavor of by using different juices.

20. Homemade Sour Watermelon Gummies

These gummies are made with fresh watermelon, lemon juice, honey (if necessary) and grass-fed gelatin. They’re a great substitute for store-bought gummy snacks, if that’s something your kids have had trouble giving up since going paleo.

21. Easy Coconut Panna Cotta

Panna cotta doesn’t necessarily have to involve cacao butter and fancy flavors. You can make it simply by sweetening coconut milk, adding a touch of vanilla extract, and setting it up with gelatin. In just a few hours of refrigerator time, you have an easy dessert.

22. Mocha Protein Energy Shake

This protein shake is rich and delicious with banana, coconut milk, cold coffee, cocoa, sea salt, and gelatin. This time, you’ll use the non-gelling form (always check your recipe to see which type of gelatin it calls for—this makes a huge difference!).

23. Honey and Stevia Marshmallows

What if I told you that you could have marshmallows that are actually good for your body? You can! These are made with gelatin, honey or make syrup, sea salt, vanilla, and liquid stevia drops—if you want to, you can use flavored stevia to enhance the flavors.

24. Mixed Berry Smoothie

This smoothie is made with mixed frozen berries, coconut milk, coconut oil, gelatin, chia seeds, and a handful of spinach. You don’t necessarily need fancy ingredients to make smoothies that are tasty and super nutritious, too.

25. Pumpkin Pie Marshmallows

Have you been bitten by the notorious fall pumpkin bug? Then you better run out and get your pumpkin, stevia, spices, and gelatin so you can make these pumpkin pie marshmallows. If you don’t have pumpkin pie spiced already mixed, combine cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and cardamom.
