Nawaz Sharif Address in National Highways & Motorway Police Prize Distribution Ceremony on Tuesday, 30-12-2014
Islamabad (Thursday, January 1, 2015) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced 20 percent increase in salaries of Motorway Police.
He was addressing the annual awards ceremony of National Highways and Motorway Police in Islamabad on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. The prime minister appreciated the performance, professionalism and merit of NH&MP and termed it a pride of the nation.
Inspector General NH&MP, Zulfiqar Cheema said the National Highway and Motorways Police, which was inaugurated in 1997 by then prime minister Nawaz Sharif, had now grown into a role model for other institutions. He mentioned that the United Nations had termed NH&MP as the ‘Island of Excellence’ and was also regarded by other international organizations as the ‘only corruption-free institution’ in public sector of Pakistan.
The IG NH&MP also presented a shield to the prime minister at this occasion.
PM Nawaz Sharif also distributed awards, medals and certificates amongst the best performers of the NH&MP.
