Hi All,

Long time reader first time poster.

I was reading a post and it's reply's from a couple of years back talking about the obsession created when one buys an SEC of any vintage. I spent the whole time thinking that I knew that feeling.

A little over 12 months ago I took a HUGE risk and brought at auction an 85 500sec. No keys no papers. I have become slightly obeessed with finding out it's history. It is an all matching numbers car and is as far as I can tell all original. As a 500 it is an import so the question is from where? By whom? And where was this made for? I have already been through vehicle imports with no record found. And SA motor reg have not been helpful. I had some help from a guy that got the last known plate for the car. What I believe from him is that it has always been an SA car and was likely quite new when it came in. I also believe it has worn low digit historic plates in it's time. I really have no other info so anything would be greatly appreciated.

Also looking for an opinion on the car. I am jusy not sure what it is worth. I think condition is pretty good but not the expert and there are not many 500sec that come up for sale and there is a huge variation in pricing for sec's that are for sale. Anyone interested in having a look at it, give me some more knowledge about the car? Is Craig B the man to talk to in SA?

On knowledge this car has a burl wood steering wheel center. On all cars I have seen for sale none of them have this does anyone know of this is an original option? It matches the rest of the timber so appears original.

I am also looking for some small parts and as people who probably have parts cars I wonder if you could help. I have an original jack but no tòol kit. A mate has suggested that they were removed from imports for quarantine reasons? None the less would be good to have an original wheel brace etc. Does anyone have one they are willing to part with? Happy to pay cash! Also needing some switch covers for the drivers side seat functions. All work but need the covers if anyone has one?

If you have not gussed I am thinking of selling Sadey. I love her dearly but don't really have the space or the money to give her the restoration she deserves (not in to half arsed jobs). Hence all the questions would love people opinions on it.

Thanks all

Stuart
