P6 Local Flavor Fair Holiday Wreaths & Swags & Gifts

In addition to the Organic soil amendments, Organic seeds, and canning & gardening supplies that our Farm & Garden department offers, we also are excited to feature P6 holiday gifts and decorations. Our P6 items mean that all of our decorations are made locally from within a 100 mile radius of our store, and purchased directly from the farms that craft them. Our holiday decorations and gifts are some of the featured products from Principle 6 vendors that will be featured in our store from 11am-5pm this Thursday, December 11th as part of our P6 Local Flavor Fair.

We have several simple and beautiful options for decorating your doors and homes, with our holiday wreaths & swags from Ugly Bunny Garden and lavender gifts from Kingston Lavender Garden. Our holiday wreaths and swags are hand made by Judy & Maria from the cedar & pine trees on their farm and decorated with sumac berries, pine cones, and other winter berries that will attract birds to your door during the winter snows. These wreaths & swags keep looking great throughout the winter especially when gently misted every other day or so – ours have lasted several months in years past.

Ugly Bunny Garden is a beautifully kept garden nestled in the Dry Fork Creek Valley of Carroll County. Judy & Maria grow fresh vegetables for the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market and through their CSA program in addition to the beautiful handcrafted holiday wreaths and swags made from the trees surrounding their garden. You can also visit their farm on the first Sunday of every month for their monthly Barn Sale event.

Our next featured local, direct, P6 vendor from our Farm & Garden department during the holiday fair is Kingston Lavender Garden. Bill & Kate Hornell will be here from noon-1pm to visit about their selection of handmade lavender gifts which include several different types of sachets, a cedar muslin, dried lavender bouquets, and decorative lavender bundles. The dried lavender that makes up these gifts is grown on their farm located in Kingston over in neighboring Madison County. They will be offering suggestions for uses aside from decorating for their creative and carefully made lavender gifts like keeping the sachets in clothes closet or under your pillow for enjoying a sweet floral lavender aroma in your home.

These are just two of our vendors that will be doing product demos and samples during the P6 Local Flavor Fair. Other products include coffees, goat cheese, handmade cards, wellness products, salsa and from the produce local, direct P6 vendors, roasted chestnuts and butternut squash soup! The chestnuts will be roasted in the store by Gianni Dante of Bur Oak farm, and he will be available for cooking tips with chestnuts and hazelnuts. We will also have Butternut squash soup, prepared with the winter squash and pumpkins from the Villines Family Farm! The Villines will be available for cooking tips with their amazing crops of butternut, acorn, pie, and Cinderella pumpkins. We hope you will get inspired with the great selection of holiday foods and gifts available straight from our local P6 producers! Happy Holidays!
