BUSINESSMAN TO CLEAN UP IN NORTH WALES DOING THE JOB THAT YOU LOVE TO HATE
Covering Prestatyn, Rhyl, Abergele, St.Asaph & Denbigh plus their surrounding villages, an up and coming Denbighshire businessman is relishing the opportunity to get his hands dirty by carrying out one of the most hated household chores for a living.
Phil Davidson has started out in business with our Ovenu business, professional oven valeting, fulfilling his dream to become his own boss and allowing him to get back to more ‘hands on’ work.
Phil, 43, previously worked as an office manager in Facilities Management for 10 years before turning to self-employment, which gives him the freedom to manage his own schedule and balance his work around his family.
He said: “I am delighted to be starting out in business and work for myself, which has always been an ambition of mine. Having spent so many years in an office setting, I wanted to do something that is more hands on and offers a great deal of variety, and most importantly, allows me to dictate my own schedule.”
Family man Phil, who is from Prestatyn and has two sons and a daughter, grew tired of the long commute to Manchester each day and after being made redundant, decided to start out in business on his own with the support of his wife, Sue.
Phil added: “I hadn’t heard of oven valeting before, but after some initial research of the market, it was the ideal opportunity for me. The long commute was a heavy burden on my family, and I am now looking forward to creating a thriving business in North Wales with an order book full of happy customers.”
Ovenu Denbighshire delivers its environmentally-friendly oven valeting service throughout the Denbighshire area.
Rik Hellewell, founder of Ovenu, said: “I am delighted for Phil that he is now in a position that suits both him and his family. His extensive experience in management together with his strong work ethic will put him in good stead and I would like to wish him all the best with his business.”
The Ovenu valeting process involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan and shelves and placing them into design-registered tank equipment, which uses safe, non-caustic products to clean the oven parts. The whole process takes around three to four hours and leaves the oven, hob and extractor in immaculate condition.
