Whether you are new to Daily Fantasy Sports or consider yourself an “expert”, you have probably heard the name “Al Zeidenfeld” whispered through the DFS community. The DraftKings Pro appears on DKTV, Grinders Live, and SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio offering advice for fantasy players. Still not ringing a bell? If not, get ready because “Al Smizzle” is about to become a household name with the way he is about to change the industry.

Zeidenfeld began playing Daily Fantasy Sports in 2012 and has been one of the leading industry experts ever since.  Realizing there is a better way to give back to the DFS community, he has developed an idea stemming from his time as a poker player where he would attend WPT and WSOP bootcamps. As Daily Fantasy Sports has grown into a HUGE multimillion dollar industry, Zeidenfeld had a vision of being able to offer DFS players an opportunity to learn from some of the leading experts in the industry, helping players cash in (literally) on the advice.

Personally, I am relatively new to Daily Fantasy Sports and I am always searching for advice on how to improve my game. When I read about Zeidenfeld’s idea, I couldn’t help but get excited, wondering how this could help a player like myself reach the next level. Knowing that many of our readers are like myself, I couldn’t wait to share his idea with you. Luckily for us, Al Zeidenfeld took some time to answer a few questions in order for us to introduce to you Daily Fantasy Bootcamp!

What is Daily Fantasy Bootcamp?

Daily Fantasy Bootcamp is going to revolutionize the way DFS players, both beginner and experienced, can improve their game.  Until now, the only opportunity for DFS players to educate themselves with daily fantasy games was through online tools and tutorials such as videos, articles and websites that offer an algorithm for the days “optimal lineup.” Daily Fantasy Bootcamp is aiming to take the training to the next level by offering the first live and in person training seminars featuring instruction from some of the most successful industry experts.

What sports are covered at Daily Fantasy Bootcamp?

Each bootcamp is sport specific, meaning that only one sport will be covered during the live trainings. As it currently stands, Daily Fantasy Bootcamp will be offering live training seminars at the beginning of each MLB, NFL, and NBA season. The MLB bootcamps begin this March and lead into April.

What can you expect at Daily Fantasy Bootcamp?

Each bootcamp will be a one day event consisting of up to 40 campers. The day will be broken down into sessions with five industry experts presenting on varying topics that are within their areas of expertise within Daily Fantasy Sports. Each speaker will speak for roughly 30-45 minutes with a Q&A session after each presentation. Not only will you be learning some great insight from the presentations, but the bootcamp will also feature some “breakdown sessions” which will allow campers to break out into groups with an assigned industry expert to discuss strategy with each other.

After the camp, there will be a small excursion where the campers and the experts can relax and hang out in a casual environment while sweating the lineups they made during the seminar.

Where will the Daily Fantasy Bootcamps take place?

The MLB bootcamps are currently slated to take place in three major cities: Los Angeles, Denver, and Chicago. More cities are expected to be added for the 2015-2016 NFL and NBA seasons. Click here for more details on dates and pricing.

Who are some of the industry experts that will be presenting at the Daily Fantasy Bootcamps?

There is a terrific lineup of experts expected to make an appearance at some point during the three city MLB tour. Besides Zeidenfeld, Peter Jennings and Jonathan Bales are two names highlighting the list of nine potential presenters for the initial MLB bootcamps. Jennings has been “living the high life” after grossing over $10 Million in prizes, including winning $1 Million in the first ever live MLB DraftKings Atlantis event in 2014. Bales is the founder of RotoAcademy and the author of the “Fantasy Sports for Smart People” book series. Also appearing in some of the cities are Mike Leone and Drew Dinkmeyer. For a full list of possible presenters, click here.

A little bit of friendly advice, if you are lucky enough to attend a session and you are paired with Drew Dinkmeyer, do not and I repeat DO NOT ask him about “Narrative Street.” It will result in banishment from the camp. Totally kidding of course. But then again…

Unable to attend a Daily Fantasy Bootcamp?

Don’t worry! Each live session will be professionally filmed and uploaded to dailyfantasybootcamp.com and can be viewed as part of the monthly $24.99 subscription to the website. Subscribers can view videos from all of the live seminars as well as have access to the daily projections sheet for MLB, NFL, and NBA.

Why attend a Daily Fantasy Bootcamp?

For starters, this is the only program of its kind to be developed for DFS players, offering campers a chance at live, one on one instruction. Sure, you may be able to find some basic information online if you are just starting out and need to get a feel for Daily Fantasy Sports. But lets face it, much of the information out there is now almost two-years old and from a time when the concept of Daily Fantasy Sports was just taking off. As the industry grows, more and more information becomes available and to be successful, your should take advantage of every nugget of information you can obtain. The idea of the bootcamp is that for a minimal investment, the knowledge gained could potentially win you thousands of dollars.

“It gives them a great platform to give back to the community by meeting and helping out a few players who aspire to be like them or have the successes that they’ve experienced while at the same time give the campers a chance to meet and hang out with the screen names that they’ve seen at the top of the leader boards week in and week out.” – Al Zeidenfeld

For me personally, its not just the information that will be presented at the Daily Fantasy Bootcamps that initially drew in my excitement about the idea, but the fact that you get to interact with some of the experts adds in a different element to the game. I’ve enjoyed getting to know guys like Al Zeidenfeld and Peter Jennings through Twitter and participating in DKTV events. I must say, they are a big part of why I continue to play DFS even though I have had minimal success. Having that little bit of interaction on a daily basis makes the game more fun and adds in a friendly competitive balance each night.
