NAIDOC Week at SA Museum



This July, the Museum’s NAIDOC Week School Holiday Program celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. The program provides an opportunity to showcase the Museum’s historical and contemporary objects and stories to younger audiences.

Find out about basket weaving, discover indigenous song and dance, and enjoy storytelling. Take the self-guided trail and discover the unique treasures of the Australian Aboriginal Cultures Gallery.

Unfold holiday fun at Rundle Mall!

Enjoy the great range of FREE activities at Rundle Mall throughout the holidays.

From Monday 6 July – Friday 17 July the Mall will be taken over by a variety of activities that are fun for the whole family!

There will be arts and crafts, a petting zoo, dance sessions by Steven Kelly Dance Studios, Lorna Jane fitness classes, parkour workshops, performances by the Amazing Drumming Monkeys and lots of footy fun, too.

Do our animals blend or bling?



Adelaide Zoo offers fun, educational activities and animal experiences daily from Monday 4 to Sunday 19 July.

Animals can blend in and be camouflaged or standout and ‘bling’ in their natural environments. Have fun at the zoo looking at the patterns and colours of our animals and decide for yourself if our animals blend or bling!

Get your (ice) skates on at Glenelg!

Moseley Square in Glenelg is being transformed into a Winter Wonderland this July with an ice rink ready for some serious and fun ice-skating!

From Saturday 4 July to Sunday 16 August, you can skate – rain, hail or snow … morning, noon or night – on a massive, undercover, 450m2 ice rink right on the Glenelg beachfront!

It’s like Hollywood in Adelaide!

The Kids Camera Action! School Holiday Workshop program is back this winter!

This series of  interactive workshops are ideal for children interested in filmmaking and they’re held in three locations (Mitcham, Goodwood and Aldgate). A team of working film and television professionals leads these fun and engaging workshops.

The workshops are split by age group and involve games, character development, story building exercises and film production.

Keeper presentations at Monarto Zoo

Keeper presentations are a great opportunity to see the animals enjoy a favourite treat or toy, possibly view a feed or simply learn more about them from the people who care from them.  The animals are always extra excited when they see their favourite keepers, so it’s always the best way to make sure you get a great view of them.

Get the kids jumping at Bounce!

Bounce is a massive indoor trampoline park that provides an adrenaline rush for all ages, with more than 50 interconnected trampolines and giant air bags with slam-dunk arenas, wall-running and dodgeball courts. It’s all about jumping high and landing soft and safe.

Perth City Snow Slide

These winter holidays, let the kids to enjoy the novelty of sliding down an icy slope in the heart of Perth city. Smaller kids can ride the 4m slide, while bigger kids (over 120cm tall) can enjoy a 12m slide.

Kids Wonderland is back!

Kids Wonderland returns for four days during July, with great kids rides and live shows, unique and creative youth activities, fun educational exhibits and popular roving performers.

Build a modular city with Bricks4Kidz, verse Mum & Dad in GameVault (the only travelling mobile game theatre), meet a T-Rex face to face, milk a cow at the Brownes Milking Station or discover what it feels like -192 degrees below zero with the SCITECH Live Experiments Show.

New planetarium show: SPACE JUNK

Fifty years after launching rockets into space, there’s a troubling legacy: a growing ring of orbiting debris. Scitech’s newest planetarium show Space Junk is a visually explosive journey of discovery about restoring our planet’s orbits. Showing in the planetarium from 4 July. 4+ years.

Fun workshops in the CSIRO Lab

There is a host of science fun happening in the CSIRO Lab, with a variety of affordable workshops on offer for children aged 4 to 16. These workshops cover topics such as food science, slime and rock pool habitats, and are grouped by age so content is relevant and understandable. Booking is essential through scitech.org.au. Fun and games at AGWA

The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) hosts a program of interactive and educational art experiences for children of all ages and their great school holiday art workshops are on again, from Wed 8, Thurs 9 & Fri 10 July and Wed 15, Thurs 16 & Fri 17 July from 11am-3pm.

The State Art Collection display Your Collection 1920 – 1960 features a drawing table for both children and adults. Draw a colourful still life using the objects in the exhibition as inspiration and you can then take your work home or display it within the space for everyone to admire.
