I am so happy that fall is finally here! The weather is starting to cooperate and it is just about time to pull out the cozy blankets, light the spiced pumpkin candles & start throwing logs on the fire at night!! I have been working on putting the finishing touches on both the outside & inside so I can start enjoying all these great fairs & festivals we have in New England! I showed my neutral Fall Mantel here-I just added the pumpkin urn in the front & mercury glass lights that I had been using on the back deck:

Can you sense I have a slight obsession with owls? I added a faux succulent to this little owl candle holder & just love it!
I finally finished the entry here with little white pumpkins lining the stairs. A quick way to make your pumpkins last longer-soak 10 parts water to 1 part bleach for about 15 minutes, shine with vaseline. It should add a couple of weeks!
Both the above bench & the below bench & pillow are DIY projects. I love finding things that are in need of an update & transforming them!
This was my first ever acrylic painting shown below of a pumpkin! I painted the pillow first & then tried it on a canvas. So fun!
This beautiful white ceramic pumpkin was another Hobby Lobby purchase at 50% off. I love the white!

It may be a little early, but I brought out my favorite pillow purchased from the super talented Craftberry Bush on Society 6. It was my Christmas present to myself last year. I am fawning over the snow owl one & may purchase it for myself this year :)
I picked up this beautiful blue glass pumpkin at Hobby Lobby for 50% off.
The DIY deer pillow I just shared last week & this beautiful pom pom throw from Homegoods. I've wanted one forever!
I made this coffee filter wreath a few years ago & hung it on the DIY chicken wire frame. I added a Gratitude banner that I printed directly on burlap.
The wood pumpkins & scarecrow are DIY projects. I made the scarecrow about 20 years ago at a class I took with my sister. I love bringing him out every year. One of my favorite owls sits in our bar cabinet, which was a $35 craigslist find that I updated with Annie Sloan paint.
This basket was a score at Savers last week for $4.99! I filled it with pumpkins, pinecones, potpourri & candles.
This wreath base is so different & I just love it. I found it at a farmers market several years ago. In the summer I put small pots of flowers in it. I just added the fall banner to brighten it up.
This chalkboard is something I love to update! This was an old mirrored door from a bureau that I found on the side of the road. I only took the door as I couldn't lift the bureau myself & I am so glad I did. It makes a perfect chalkboard & covers the fuse box.
This paper wreath is in the downstairs guest bathroom. I wanted to stay with the cool blues of the rugs & went with non traditional colors. I did make a traditional colored paper wreath for a friend of mine here:

I love sunflowers! These are fake, but look so real. The view is just stunning, especially at this time of year.
I updated the coastal mugs I made for the Summer, with fall leaves. So easy to do with sharpie paint pens. Just ensure you bake them after to seal them.
Painted Dollar Tree pumpkins in peat pots with a little moss on my $2.99 Goodwill scale. One of my favorite finds!
Of course, you have to have candy with Halloween right around the corner. I keep a basket in the kitchen. I made this super quick candy bark. Just melt chocolate of your choice & pour a thin layer on parchment paper on a cookie sheet & break up pieces of Halloween candy of your choice. I used kit kats, hersheys, nestle cruch & m&m's. Let it set in the refrigerator & you are good to go! I am packing some up to ship in a care package to my College Daughter whom I'm missing dearly! My Son will be more than happy to try this out!
