We all like to get away and take time off. It is important to be able to take a break from work, school, and normal responsibilities in order to recharge our internal batteries and experience some things that we normally don’t get to do. For many families, summer is the perfect time to do this. I know that each summer, my family joins up with my parents and my brothers & their families to gather for a week of fun.
Even though many people like to take time off during the summer, your church website cannot afford to take time off. Here are 3 reasons why…
Many families move during the summer, so that means many families are looking for a new church when they arrive in their new town. Having an outdated church website, is a bad first impression.
Most people are in town most of the time. Although many families vacation for a week or two each summer, that means that for 8-10 other weeks of the summer, those families are still in town. During this time, they are still looking to be engaged with the church.
For those who stay connected with the church online (listening or watching sermons or services online) while out of town, taking a break from updating the website is a big disappointment.
So how do you keep your church website updated while you go away for a bit?
The best way to do this is to have a church web team of 2-3 people, all of whom can update the website. This way if one person is gone, the other(s) can update the site.
Update your site while out of town. If you are the only person who can update your church website, then you should develop a plan to update the site while you are away. If you have a good system set up, it should only take an hour per week to update the church website while you are out of town. All of the websites that we offer at OurChurch.Com are updated online, so you can update your site via your phone, tablet, or computer while you are away.
