Got a 1992 Lexus LS400 that I have owned for the last 2 to 3 years. I bought this car completely stock and put a lot of work into the car modding and having some fun with it. I have now bought a new car and looking to get rid of the car to someone who wants to continue the project. The car runs perfectly fine, was my daily driver everyday before, driving anywhere from 20-30 miles a day, and even several trips to and from orlando/miami, orlando/gainesville, and orlando/tampa.
Some stuff done to the car:
-Interior was a mess, had all the seats redone in black leather with suede inserts done in a diamond stitch ($1500 job)
-Custom exhaust done at RoadRunner Exhaust Shop out in Kissimmee. 2.25 inch diameter pipes done from the headers all the way back, cats were eliminated, has resonators on each side with an magnaflow x pipe in the middle, ending with a 18 inch stainless steel borla mufflers and 18 inch slant cut 3 inch stainless steel exhaust tips. Exhaust sounds great, does not drone, and has an aggressive tone. ($800)
-Full audio system done, all the door speakers have been replaced with pioneer components, rewired completely, and powered by Kenwood 4 Channel 720W amp. System is paired with a 12 inch Kicker L7 in a ported box ( box has insert can be ported or sealed ) powered by a Kicker 750W Mono amp. All of which the system is hooked up to a 1.5 farad capacitor and controlled by Pioneer double din Model AVH-P4200DVD.
-Car sitting on Megan EZ Street Coilovers, they have been dialed in for current height and ride quite smooth for how low they are. ($800)
-JDM 1 Piece Headlights with 5k HIDs (There is a set of USDM Headlights BNIB that is included, bought these as replacements for the car but found a set of JDM and bought those before these even came in the mail.)
-RCR (Red/Clear/Red) Tailights (OEM inner taillight are currently on the car will also include these *I liked the look*)
-All interior lights have been changed to LED's
-Power Steering Rack was replaced last year due to leaking
-New upper controller arms and outer tie rod ends were installed earlier this year ($500 in parts)
-AC blows ice cold (R134a conversion has already been done)
-Viper 5901 2 way Alarm w/ window modules installed. An extra set of keys and remote included. Remote start wired and working, window modules on all 4 windows (front 2 windows can be pulled down via remote *can wire for all 4 windows but I just set it to the front* and upon locking the car, all 4 windows will automatically roll up)
-Transmission shift solenoids were replaced after the car was bought so no problems there.
-Dash Cluster was redone everything lights up normal.
The bad:
-Temperature gauge and gas gauge both act funny. Temperature gauge sometimes sweeps thru the entire range, but sometimes works just fine, I believe the sensor may be going bad, but it has not been a big concern for me. The gas gauge needle does not accurately depict the level of gas, but the low gas light does still work just fine, been using that as indicator.
-Valve Cover gaskets need to be replaced, driver side has small leak that I have been too lazy to replace.
-Hood and driver side door handles have been replaced with Dark Green panels from another car, but the color difference is very hard to tell. Honestly most people never notice until pointed out.
-Car has original paint, showing signs of age ( cant expect too much from a 20+ year old car ) Clear is starting to fade on the roof and some small damage here and there nothing major
-Check engine light is on, code is for EGR leak. LS400's have a flawed EGR pipe that cracks and throws the code, most people eliminate the pipe and block off the EGR system entirely, the pipe is just in a bad spot that is a pain to change, that I just ignored up until now.
-Car mileage.... when I bought the car the clock was at 15x,xxx, however I did not know at the time of purchase but the mileage clock stopped working and on the title the DMV has exempted the car mileage. So for sure there is at least 15x,xxx miles on the car but I do not know how many miles the car has exactly. Motor runs strong no mechanical issues.
Wheels are Work Eurolines 19x8.5 +40 and 19x9.5 +38 with 225/35/19 all around. Rims are in great shape holds air, just one of the rear rims has a little bit of rash as seen in pictures. The setup you see on the car is with 25mm and 23mm spacers pushing the rears to the fitment seen and probably another 10~15 mm left to push in the front. Car is currently sitting on stock rims and tires, the two rear tires have camber wear could flip the tires or get new ones, I just took the rims off because I did not have money to do anything about it. Front tires were changed last year still look great.
