Aris Gomez was a thriving young teen when a burst aneurysm changed his life forever. It changed his single mom, Vanessa Rodriguez’s life forever, too.

As she struggled to provide and take Aris to his physical therapy and doctor appointments, he grew into a young man, and his 6-foot frame became a daily struggle to lift in and out of her non-wheelchair-friendly car.

Origami Owl® Designer Ivonne Santos saw the challenge and knew she wanted to do something to help.

When she heard about Origami Owl’s Live Sparkly campaign, which gathered proceeds from its Live Sparkly Multi-colored Swarovski® Stardust to give back, she nominated the family with the request of providing a wheelchair-accessible van to ease the difficulty of getting around.

First, their story became one of the top four nominations. (Read it here)

Then, the votes of support on LiveSparkly.com (http://www.livesparkly.com ) poured in.

And the day arrived when Origami Owl’s video team flew to upstate New York to interview the pair and capture their story…along with Origami Owl’s Founders to surprise them with the gift of a lifetime.

Watch their story here.

Designer Ivonne Santos shared that it was “one of those days that I will remember for the rest of my life.”

For each of Origami Owl’s Co-Founders, it was a moment that took their breaths away and left them in tears of joy.

“I wish you all could have experienced the pure JOY out of Aris and the shock and disbelief out of Vanessa when they realized the van was a gift for them,” reflects Tyson Basha. “It is because of the entire O2 family that we were able to accomplish this. We are blessed to have a company that is capable of doing magical things for people.”

Gratefully, Origami Owl’s Designers sold so much Live Sparkly Multi-colored Swarovski Stardust and Force for Good Lockets in a November promotion that we were able to give back to the other three Live Sparkly nominees!

Origami Owl gifted nearly $4,600 to each of the following families to help bring a little sparkle back into their lives before Christmas. Read their stories:

Live Sparkly continues and all funds raised from our Live Sparkly Multi-colored Swarovski® Stardust profits in 2017 will benefit the next give back campaign! Keep sharing it and stay tuned for details on when you can nominate someone for the second annual Live Sparkly “Share the Sparkle” campaign.
