It’s time for the next phase of Organize 365.
Ohhhh that’s a loaded sentence right there. I know how people hate change and so many of you have been reading this blog from the bringing. I can’t thank you enough for your support, encouragement and loyalty.
For the past 6 months I have felt this crazy energy inside me. Like a sports car revving it’s engine. I can feel it now as I am typing this post. I feel like I could go run a marathon with energy to spare. I am so excited for the future…
When I started Organize 365 in January of 2012 I was transitioning my life into my 40’s and into my fulltime professional organization business.
Over the past 3 years I have grown a team of professional organizers in Cincinnati, helped other professional organizers launch their businesses around the world, published 21 eBooks and Courses, joined 5 direct sales companies, and started 3 podcasts and more.
Along the way I was learning what made Organize 365 unique, proving I could make a living, and refining my organizational passions.
Well now it’s time to organize – Organize 365.
Let’s face it. In the beginning I blogged about anything and sporadically! Then I hit my stride and found a few unique organizing solutions like: The Sunday Basket, The 40 Weeks 1 Whole House Series, 10 Steps to Organized Paper and podcasting.
Along the way the internet and YOU have changed. In 2012 I had a Blackberry – did you have a smart phone? I was using a paper planner. I bought almost all my groceries and household items at the store and I got my ideas out of magazines.
Now I have an iPhone, order everything I can online, use Google calendars in ways Google can’t even fathom and haven’t looked at a magazine in a year.
I used to read blogs everyday – like an online magazine, but now there are SO many. I Google what I need and read just that.
So I thought about MY site. I LOVE how I am able to pull in all the errand posts into links in week 39 of the 40 week challenge. There is no need to search and read each one. I want to do more of that.
I remember when I started my blog and felt like I would never reach the time when I had blogged about how to organize almost everything. And now I think I have.
I mean of course I can always write an 11th post about how to organize your pantry, but I think the first 10 covered it pretty well.
You know I picked the name Organize 365 because I know organization is a daily habit.
So now that I have hundreds of posts, I want to organize them into a perpetual 365 days of organizing posts.
So as of August 1, 2015 Organize 365 will have a daily blog post that will tie in with the 40 Weeks 1 Whole House organization series.
I will still be writing a few new posts sprinkled in there. And each post will be updated before reposting with new information and a podcast if needed.
Speaking of podcasts
Last week I wrote a post about how to subscribe to my podcast. That is how you will know there is a new podcast! And they will be announced in the newsletter. {More on that below}
Now that the 40 Weeks 1 Whole House series is recorded I don’t want to stop podcasting. I have plans to add podcasts to some of my other posts and series, but I also want to start answering your organizational questions in the podcasts as well.
I will still be producing a weekly podcast this summer.
Another exciting development is the APP I am developing to help everyone complete the 40 Weeks 1 Whole House Challenge.
This app will be ready to go on August 1. I have invested a lot of time and money into the perfect FREE app for you to use to really get your home organized.
One of my favorite features is a daily notification that will give you a 5-10 minute organization task to complete. I am working on a list of 101 ideas right now.
Originally I was using a newsletter service to deliver the 40 week challenge right to your inbox, but the links keep breaking and the APP won’t work with that newsletter provider so I need to move my email mailing list AGAIN!!
What about the TV show?
So I am still interested in producing the 40 Weeks 1 Whole House TV show, but I am delaying that push for the next 12-18 months.
Of course if a network comes to me – I’m all in! But to self produce would be at least $10,000 for just the first few episodes. I decided instead to make an app for a few thousand.
Also I am pondering writing a hard cover, publisher published organization book. That book would open doors to the right people to produce a show.
And finally just this month, Tim Ferris produced his own show – exactly like I wanted to. He has a network behind him AND it is available on demand on Amazon Prime. He owns the rights to his show.
If I were to sell my idea to a network and they produce the show, then they own it. And how does that help the person that finds the 40 week challenge the week AFTER the show airs? How will they be able to watch the episodes on demand?
So, with the crazy changing speed of technology, I am going to wait and see if I can produce this show in a way that the content can be accessed when it’s produced and in the future.
{UPDATE!! I might have that TV show going this fall after all!! Boy and I going to be busy this summer!}
That’s a lot of changes!
I know! Future readers of Organize 365 will know the site for the daily posts, podcast and app. But what about those of you who LIKE my goal posts and personal ramblings?
Well, that’s where my newsletter comes in.
You know how making my newsletter better has been on my goal list FOR. EV. ER?! Well I think I have the solution. IF my blog is a reference for daily organizing and IF my app is the place to keep you motivated to complete the 40 week challenge… then the newsletter is my way of personally communicating with YOU.
This spring I wanted to let you know there was FREE shredding in Cincinnati at a local chain of banks.
Coming up soon, Walgreens will have a day nationwide where you can turn in expired medicine.
Summer is here and now is the time to check and see if your area has a free hazardous waste program.
Last month I completely redid my office/ craft area with Michael’s products because they were 60% off.
All of these communications and time sensitive. They aren’t worth writing a blog post about, and they get lost on Facebook, but I wish I had had a way to let you know about them.
I DO want to share my life with you weekly, but I don’t think the blog is the best place anymore.
So I’d LOVE for you to join my Newsletter if you haven’t already.
I will be sending a weekly email with what I am up to, any relevant organizational news, and a link to my new podcast that week and a recap of all the blog posts for the week.
Join my newsletter now and you’ll get the behind the scenes information about how everything is going, early access to my app and more!
Join the 365 Newsletter here!
So here’s the scary part for me… I’m not posting on the blog for 60 days.
I know. CRAZY right?! But there is no other way to get all this reorganized and done other than to stop creating NEW content and reorganize the old.
BUT! I will have a weekly podcast and newsletter this summer. So please sign up for the newsletter and download my podcast.
Oh and the posts on the blog aren’t going anywhere. You will still be able to read them all summer long!
I hope you have a very relaxing summer with your family and get ready…. August 1, 2015 is going to be the start of something amazing!
