A Quick Response To The Signs Of A Stroke Could Help Prevent Life-long Disability
A free seminar on stroke prevention will be held Thursday, May 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport. The seminar will be led by medical director for Samaritan Stroke Services, Richard Lafrance, MD, and AmieJoe Roper, RN, Samaritan Stroke Services program coordinator, who will share helpful information about how to prevent a stroke, recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke and what to do if a stroke is suspected. CASA Beach Bash
Join us for CASA’s annual fundraiser BEACH BASH Saturday May 10th at the Embarcadero Resort from 6:00 – 10:00 PM. This event helps fund advocate programs that help children in foster care in Lincoln County. A really fun event for a serious issue. It’s the most fun you’ll have at the beach this year!! Poker For Pets
On May 3rd at 6:30 pm the Newport Yo-Pros will be hosting a social, networking & community service event entitled “Poker for Pets.” All Young Professionals of Lincoln County are invited. The gathering will be held at the Embarcadero Resort on the Historic Bayfront. Your “buy in” to the game will be donations to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, for example 1 bag of pet food equals 20 chips, collars and leashes equal 100 chips and a box of flea medicine would equal 250 chips. Additional purchasing of chips for cash will be available too! We will have professional and amateur dealers providing Black Jack and Texas Hold ‘em.
