The Oregon Coast Aquarium will be open every day this summer from 9:00 a.m. – 6 p.m. inviting its visitors dive into the underwater world. New this summer, the Aquarium hosts a Turkey Vulture Chat every day at 12:30 p.m. Guests are also encouraged to attend the sea otter and sea lion feeding presentations that are featured three times a day. Throughout the summer, the Aquarium will offer animal feeding educational programs, in-exhibit SCUBA diving presentations and biofacts. All of these programs are free with the cost of admission.
The Aquarium will also offer special programs throughout the summer.
On the 4th the July the Aquarium will debut its Snorkel the Aquarium program, providing visitors ages 8 and up the opportunity to pull on a dry suit and float with the fishes in the Halibut Flats or Orford Reef exhibits of Passages of the Deep! ($95, mostly ages 8 and up, pending the size of the child which can affect the performance of dry suits. Groups of four or more $75)
No trip to the Aquarium is complete without a fishy kiss from a Harbor seal or California sea lion! Take a trip behind the scenes to meet one of our blubbery friends and get a memory you will never forget. Make sure to bring your camera! This 30 minute experience includes a behind-the-scenes look at our pinniped exhibit followed by a whiskery kiss from a sea lion or harbor seal and fun photo opportunities. ($35 Ages 8 and up. Maximum of 10 participants per encounter. $5 discount for Aquarium members.)
Are you a sucker for the spineless? Go behind-the-scenes on a popular encounter to shake our octopus’s hand… er, tentacles. Learn about the exciting life of one of the most intelligent invertebrates on this planet! ($40 Ages 8 and up. $5 discount for Aquarium members.)
Behind-the-Scenes Tour: How does the Aquarium care for a swarm of stinging jellies, a 500 pound California Sea Lion and dozens of toothy sharks? Travel behind the scenes with us to explore the ins and outs of caring for over 15,000 animals every day. ($15 Ages 6 and up. This tour includes a trip to the top of the Passage of the Deep exhibit. $5 discount for Aquarium members.)
