Violence takes many forms.

Recent violent events in many parts of the USA are but a continuation of a long history pitting a disenfranchised population against the guardians of the privileged few. In truth, resorting to violence is never justified; and, condemnation of entire groups of people is likewise unjustified.

Operation USA has long supported programs aimed at preventing, treating, curbing or eliminating violence in all its forms. A look at our 2016 work finds us supporting the International Development Association of Ethiopia, whose nationwide Center of Excellence teaches hundreds of teachers and thousands of parents to avoid violence against children for whom they care, while our school programs in the Philippines, Sri Lanka and, soon, Nepal seek to build children’s self-confidence and bolster their ability to resist violence against themselves or others in their communities.

Human Rights and Civil Rights can imbue many forms of support–we choose providing material aid in order to enable local people to teach strategies and tactics for combating violence to children, their families and those who train them both. Every day, we strive to empower youths so that future generations may have the tools they need to create meaningful change in their own communities and lives.

We need your support now, more than ever, as we enable communities to recover, build resiliency and thrive in the face of pervasive obstacles during a time of unprecedented global need. If you feel inspired to take part in the national and global movement to better serve future generations, we encourage you to donate today and help us change lives in the world’s most overlooked and under-served communities.
