Country, jazz, modern, soft rock, alternative rock, classical and many other types of music are popular in American music. Many different types of music have been demonstrated by American Idols. Several previous idols have even found their sound and image on the show. Their appearance and experience with American Idol has led them to having their American music recorded.
Even the idol contestants that did not win were offered recording contracts. An example is the 2010 runner up, Crystal Bowersox. Her album -Farmers Daughter-features her style and shows her talent at song writing as well. She is known to have a personal style that she puts in her singing and her writing. She draws on her life when writing as in her song, Holy Toledo. Fans of the show can also enjoy music from their favorite contests, such as Casey James, Josh Gracin and Michael Lynche, in a sampler of music features their talents. This music is available featuring contestants from each season. Another performer coming in second place that had a popular following after the show is Clay Aiken. It had been a close win during that season for Ruben Studdard, but the public spoke. Aiken has had a variety of albums including a holiday CD was released.
This reality competition features the personal talents of the contestants while also exposing them to American music they may not have otherwise sung. Jennifer Hudson, who was eliminated, has found high success in her career since the show. She has become an Oscar award winning actress for her talents. Another winner that has had award winning success and is considered the most decorated talent from the American music show is Carrie Underwood. Her main music focus has been Country and she has found major success with her efforts. She has sold over 12 million albums during the few years she has worked to be in the spotlight.
American music has been influenced by the contestants surrounding this reality competition. It was determined in early 2010 that 47 million albums were sold by those how have competed in this show. The American music presented has been identified as a wonderful experience allowing American talent to become discovered and start their career.
