Great sound engineer too!

Comment from Dominic:

Great time last night --- wonderful host, talented performers and great audience.

Comment from Cindy muzzy:

Still the best place in town for open mic. Experience playing on a real stage with a real sound engineer! Sign-ups start at 6:30, music starts at 7. All levels of musicianship are welcomed!

Comment from Cindy Muzzy:

We are still going strong! Been a little lazy about posting pictures and now there's this newfangled site called Facebook that seems to consume every spare moment of one's life. But we are still having open mic every Sunday, sign-ups start at 6:30pm, music starts at 7. Please come!

Comment from Cindy:

Haven't submitted in a while but we're still going strong! Come check us out if you haven't already. Real stage, in-house sound system with a REAL sound guy, great food and beer and great supportive crowd… the 5-star open mic!

Comment from Cindy:

No Open Mic March 20th. See you March 27th.

Comment from Cindy:

No open mic on Feb 6th, superbowl Sunday. See you on Feb 13th!

Comment from Cindy and Steve:

Happy New Year everyone! 2010 brought alot of talent on our stage. Let's keep it going. Kicking off the year tonight, Jan, 2nd. See you there!

Comment from Cindy, Steve and Jonathan:

Our Christmas song open mic was awesome! New people showed up including a sax player and a synthesizer. Plus Mark's hammered dulcimer sounded great! There will be open mic on 12/26 and 1/2. Check out our holiday video at: jibjab.com. Have a wonderful holiday!!!

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

No open mic on Dec 12th. However… join us on Dec. 19th for our Christmas open mic! Get your Christmas songs together and let's have some fun! Ok, holiday songs are not a requirement, neither are funny looking hats, but what the heck, it's only once a year!

Comment from Cindy:

Halloween was a blast! No open mic Nov. 7th. See you Nov. 14th!

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

Yes! We are having open mic on Halloween! Costumes are optional but it would be fun…

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

No open mic Sunday, Sept. 26th. See you on Oct. 3rd!

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

Thank you for your positive comments. The musicians really make it work. Thanks to all our faithful regulars, too numerous to list. Thanks to Randall and Bob for guest hosting last Sunday. Judy will be hosting on Aug.8th.
The sign-up sheet is always at the door in the beginning. By the middle of the night it can usually be found somwhere in the vicinity of the stage. Just look for me, I'll find it. Cindy

Comment from Shan:

This was a nice place to play. Nice stage and well organized. Sometimes it is hard to find the sign-up sheet. The host is wonderful. Excited for the music dread the food. The food is mediocre.

Comment from Granger52:

My son has played here before- was 12 then. Thanks to the host and audience support

Comment from Cindy:

There is no age limit but we've never had anyone younger than 15. The 7pm time makes it easy for families to come out. I don't know of any curfew. Come check it out.

Comment from Anonymous:

Is there an age limit for kids? I noticed a lot of young kids playing. what's the situation with new hope police and curfews? we have a 12 year old who wants to come and play.

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

Every week is different, always something new! And a great big thank you to all of the faithful regulars who make this place so warm and inviting. I look forward to hosting every single week! Cindy

Comment from Cindy:

No open mic this Easter Sunday. So practice, practice, practice!!!
See you on April 11th.

Comment from Cindy:

Hi Ben,
At least 3 songs time permitting. If it's a slow night performers can do 4 songs and if there's time left at the end you can come back up. Figure about 15 minutes per set. Thanks for checking. Hope to see you.

Comment from Ben Tyler:

How many songs/length of set do performers get?

Comment from Chris - Rovin Hooligans:

Great first Sunday!!! Great range of ages and styles. Just a reminder to all the talented folk who come to this venue. Now that it is starting at 7:00pm New Hope Police required the parking meters be fed until 9:00pm.

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

Join us for the new Sunday kick-off March 7th from 7 - 10pm.
Sign-ups start at 6:30pm. See you there!

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

No open mike on Feb 11th but we will be back on 2/18 and 2/25. Beginning March 7th we will have a new schedule. Stay tuned…

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

Our first open mic of 2010 turned out great! Thanks to all who came out.

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

Hope you all had a nice holiday. Just 3 more open mic dates left for this year!
Dec. 3rd come out and help me celebrate my birthday. And don't forget, Dec. 17th is our special Holiday Song open mic. Can't wait to hear those funky Christmas tunes!

Comment from Cindy:

Hey Babe, I picked the best one of you for this site. I'm sending you all the rest personally. Yeah, I take alot. It takes alot of pictures to find one that doesn't make the singers look like they're constipated! See you next week!

Comment from Sonny Ford:

Hey Cin where's all the pix from this night? Seems to me I remember alot of camera flash goin' off,or was that just all MY paparazzi and The Sonny Ford Fan-Club??? A GR8 nite all in all.The singer who followed MLC onstage at the start was a very refreshing Woody Guthrie/Pete Seger clone great original songs.Goes w/out sayin' opera Robbie was fantastic hope he keeps commin' back.Spence & the BeatBoxer blew people away to be sure.Aboriginal Eye are quite talanted at a young age.Chris n' Bill,Randel & friend,Venky… the list goes on for a very uplifting evening.Thurs @Triumph is easily the best show in town or outta town for that matter. Thanx Largely to Cindy/MLC ! Keep doin' what yer doin' guys… "break-a-leg" !

Comment from Sonny Ford:

The Sonny Ford Experience w/Bobbie(The Harp)Harris played Sept3rd open-mic to a small but enthusiastic room.Host Cindy Muzzy easily had all the entertainers at ease and
welcome.Smooth operation,Thanx Cin,we'll see ya again.
Sonny

Comment from Cindy:

Oh crap! Now you've pissed off Bill!
Hey Bill, I knew there was a reason I love ya. Loyalty! Thanks for the kind words. See you soon.

Comment from Banjo Bill:

Alright, that's it! Don't make me come down there! Cindy and Steve try really hard to create a local place for people of talent to mingle and express themselves. What I say to folks that might not agree with there approach!"Start your own scene" Heck I bet Cindy would even help you!

Comment from Freddy G:

This is an more like an open jam at time not just a singer/songwriter thing.

Comment from Paul:

Which would make sense if this were an open jam, and not a Singer/Songwriter Night like it says up top. I know, reading is hard.

Comment from cos:

perhaps a " house kit " along with some backline amps, already there plug and play. No setup of your own that is how most OPEN JAMS work

Comment from Cindy:

Thanks for asking, Freddy. We thought there could be drums after 10 but, like you said, the full kits take too long to set up. I love hearing the bands but we want everyone to get a chance so we are limiting percussion to hand drums or partial kits.

Comment from Freddy G:

But what happened to the no drums policy? Last week there was lots of waiting for full bands to set up an then it was too loud and a bunch of people didn't get to play.

Comment from Paul Roub:

Dear Mr. Anonymous guy (sorry to bother everyone else) - your comments haven't shown up because *I'm* deleting them, not the people running the open mike. They can't actually do that. Just me.

If you had just once included an actual email address, or perhaps your name, I'd have explained that to you directly.

Feel free to drop me a line at admin@openmikes.org if you'd like.

Comment from Another Guitar Player:

Great people, great music. Show up on time to sign up and you're fine. Cindy and Steve are the hosts with the most. Good times, despite my playing.

Comment from Chris/ Roving Hooligans:

this is one of the tightest run openmics in the area, they always follow the list, no call ins show up to sign up, three songs and done. Too many signups , are you kidding me. Hey diva get there earlier like the 17 folks before you did. great place with a great mix of genres.

Comment from Anonymous:

too many signups mean that you wait hours and then maybe don't play. they need to weed out the time wasting.

Comment from Cindy:

Thanks guys. YOU make it great!

Comment from Lawrence:

Great time at the Triumph last week! Thanks Cindy & John! Looking forward to playing there again, GREAT SOUND! up on the Nice New stage Plat.

Comment from Court:

We enjoyed playing as well as the diverse mix of musicians last week and plan on returning soon.

Thanks Cindy + Steve for a great time!

The HEMI'S - Court, Marc + Max

Comment from Jeff Greene:

The music was surprisingly varied, and some of it was terrific. I liked the way the hosts made all the performers, regardless of their experience level, feel comfortable.

The stage is very well laid out with good monitors and an intelligently placed board.

As if that wasn't enough, the shrimp dish was great.

Thanks for a really good time,

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

It's summer, it's New Hope. College kids are home partying with their friends, kids are out to dinner with their parents.Everyone deserves a night out.The pictures speak for themselves. The last 2 weeks were jumping!

Comment from Freddy G:

Yeah well if you want to see some guy belching and cursing into the mike then this is the place to go. Drunk college kids under age, even younger kids running around. A waste of your time.

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

Pics are coming! Login problems. Sorry. Thanks to all for another great night!

Comment from Funkadelic:

There ought to be more pics of the event- two weeks ago i.e. Sound system is good but not perfect. Will jam again.

Comment from MidLife Crisis:

The word is spreading. This is the place to be on Thursdays! The list was full last week so sign up early. Hope to see you this week!

Comment from Cindy:

What a great kick-off night! We had everything from Irish drinking songs to heavy metal guitar. Originals, covers, and a really good band with no name. Can't wait to see who shows up next week. Hope it's YOU! I promise to bring my camera so we can post some pictures. Thanks to Dave and Jonathan for making this happen.

Comment from Cindy Muzzy:

Everyone welcomed! Covers as well as original material. Acoustic and electric. Don't play but would like to sing? We have an extensive list of songs we can back you up on. Dedicated sound engineer to help you sound your best!
