Poet Steve Redic features for April's National Poetry Month. Redic is also a lyricist. He has collaborated with musician Don Watson on a CD "Welcome Home New Hampshire."

Decatur Creek is March’s feature. Doug Farrell, Steve Dionne and Jack Carlton combine vocals with guitar and bass rhythms. Their diverse, yet complementary, styles blend together to result in Decatur Creek’s unique sound.

Zak Trojano is February’s feature. Trojano, a multi-instrumentalist from Contoocook, NH, both solos and plays with the band Rusty Belle, based in Amherst, MA. His formal music education finds expression in the Americana-roots-folk tradition. Trojano has a recent CD release.

January 19 will feature a program of American Civil War music. Marek Bennett (Big Paws), Woody Pringle (Bradford Bog People) and friends will present a selection of American Civil War music that previews their full program ‘Rally Round the Flag.’ The duo’s website is civilwarfolkmusic.com

Featured guitarist Cindi Meehan shares her extraordinary vocal range and spirit-felt lyrics. December's performance will include several original and popular numbers and also those portraying the spirit of Christmas. Cindi has received rave reviews and has recorded two CDs.

November 17 feature is Phil Levesque. Phil performs uplifting music, including light jazz standards and some original compositions. Brazilian sounds often find their way into his exceptional guitar-playing.

Jack Kid features on October 20. Kid prefers creating his original blend of acoustic music to “spark the imagination and heal the heart.” His original music is a brew-ha-ha of edgy urban folk, blues and fingerstyle guitar.

Bill Kasper will be featured on Old Home Day, September 15. Manchester resident Kasper is a singer-songwriter guitarist with poetic taste and style. Kasper’s original music cannot be pigeon holed, ranging from ballads to blues to love songs. Whether his lyrics tell a story or capture a mood, Kasper’s mellow voice weaves a musical web.

The Big Paws will be featured at Dunbarton’s Spireside Coffee House on June 16. The band from Keene and Henniker is billed as Folk-Roots-Ramblin’-All-Ages-Adventure. Their program includes original songs, dance tunes and ballads from American and Eastern European traditions. Singer/songwriter Kathy Lowe will be the featured performer at Dunbarton’s Spireside Coffee House on May 19. The New London musician will perform original songs on guitar, dulcimer and drum. Also well-known in NH as a children’s performer, Kathy’s program at Spireside is for teens and adults. Open mic performers before and after the feature.

In April Spireside hosts a musician's open jam from 7:30 to 8:30 PM. Open mic opportunities start at 8:30. Complementary admission.

Jon Godfrey from Candia will be the featured performer on March 17. Jon favors folk music, performing a wide variety of old favorites on his acoustic guitar. He often introduces his audience to songs that make a social statement. Jon adds commentary to his songs, providing the audience with relevant background information.

Southern NH performer Steve Z will feature February 18 at Spireside. Well known to music lovers around the Manchester-Nashua area, Steve treats a loyal following to his timeless blend of folk, rock, country and bluegrass classics, interwoven with evocative original ballads, and all delivered in his resonant, trademark Steve Z baritone. He has recorded two CDs, The Girl with the Pearl Earring (2010) and Just Come on In (2009).

Spireside is attracting talented musicians. Mostly acoustic, but occasionally keyboard. Poets read too. There are usually two rounds for performers. Venue is cozy and food is great.

The Spireside Coffeehouse welcomes musicians, poets and writers. We hope to provide a welcoming venue for a variety of music and the spoken word and create a Dunbarton destination. It's an open mic venue without the mic. $5.00 admission. Light refreshments will be available.
