2015-11-09

Friday December 11th at 6pm at the home of Open Source director Monika Wuhrer at 257 17th Street, Brooklyn.

Join us to celebrate another great year and an exciting 2016 exhibition cycle to come! We know you trust us, that 2016 will be the best year to come!

Early Bird Tickets: $40!

Having seen the impact of last year’s fundraiser, this year we want to raise the stakes with a goal of $20,000!

Next year, we have planned an exhibition schedule that will include 11 artist collectives and artist groups from across the globe, including Boa Mistura (Spain), iCollective (International), guerilla-art.mx (Germany, Mexico), Rawiya (Middle East), Dimensions Variable (Miami, FL), and SiTE:LAB (Grand Rapids, MI). We will continue to host excellent lectures and events.

We also plan to expand our children’s program into even more schools throughout NYC. Through contributions from our donors, our hope is that this year we will be able to implement one of our most important long term goals: to reach more children in under-funded schools and communities through NYC.

Last years’ silent auction included work from over 50 artists. Speakers included Ben Sutton (Hyperallergic) and Kathryn Wallem (Beam Center).

Money raised during our 2015 fundraiser helped to make this past year incredible! We hosted 11 amazing exhibitions of both local and international artists, including Savas Boyraz, Cristian Bors & Marius Ritiu, Jasmine Murrell, and Yun-Woo Choi. We celebrated the second season of How to Build a Fire and presented incredible speakers at our lectures and panel discussions, such as NASA scientist Dr. Michael Allison, artist Shellyne Rodriguez, and ethnomusicologist Ozan Aksoy. We also made great strides with our educational program, KOKO Open Source, setting-up shop in the Beam Center and expanding our after-school program to 5 new schools!

We are looking forward to seeing you on December 11th!

Monika
