Get ready for an evening of heart-thumping spoken word and inspiring a cappella with Luka Lesson and guests on Saturday 15th February 2014 at 107 Projects, Redfern.

Combining the mood of artist-run initiative 107 Projects and old-school speakeasy’s, Luka Lesson returns to Sydney to introduce a new style to his performance, a cappella, alongside his spoken word poetry and rapping histories.

A beacon of literary hope, hard-hitting and engaging, Luka has the ability to transform a room with his energy and stage presence. Bringing along a diverse range of artists in their strongest styles including slam poets, rappers, and singers, this event will fill your soul with the best kind of culture.

Luke Haralampou, aka Luka Lesson, is a spoken word and hip-hop artist of Greek heritage from Australia.



With two years of international touring, 11 Writers’ Festivals, 7 years of workshop experience and almost ten years  of writing under his belt, Luka has written commissions and performed for the likes of The Nuyorican Poets’ Cafe (NYC), The National Gallery of Victoria, Trinity International Hip-hop Festival, Greece’s pioneer hip-hop group Active Member and China’s most celebrated living poet Xi Chuan in Beijing. He is also the Australian Poetry Slam champion of 2011 and Melbourne Overload Poetry Festival slam champion of 2010.

Support acts include P.Smurf (Big Village), Jesse John Brand (Australian Poetry Slam champ ‘13), Jessie Ray (Art Party) and Eunice Chin.

Followed up with a half-day spoken word workshop on Sunday February 16th, this is your chance to see live art in action, learn to express yourself successfully and workshop/share your poetic ideas.
