ISLAMABAD: The federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rasheed Thursday said the return of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf to the National Assembly was not the need of government but democracy.
The minister said that being a political worker, he realized that every elected political party must try to resolve public issues only in Parliament rather than sitting outside and opting the politics of agitation.
He said that the chapter of alleged planned rigging in elections should be closed now and there was need to move forward for development of the country. It has been proved that elections were more transparent comparing with the past.
He claimed that not only the Judicial Inquiry Commission Report and Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) but also all international election observers had declared the 2013 general election as free, fair and transparent.
Answering a question about the issue of resignation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf parliamentarians from National Assembly, the minister observed that it was part of political game.
He said, “We should not level allegations rather work together to resolve masses issues.”
