The Lilliput Players Children`s Theatre Company will be premiering their BRAND NEW show, ALADDIN at the NASSAU THEATRE. Aladdin will run from Monday 30th June until Saturday 12th July at 10:00am (Monday to Saturday). There are only 12 performances of Aladdin and the show will be staged at the NASSAU THEATRE (on the grounds of Groote Schuur High School) on Palmyra Road in Newlands.
ALADDIN - which takes place in the desert of AGRABAH, is the story of a poor street boy called Aladdin, who is the only person who can enter the cave of wonders and retrieve a magical lamp for the evil Jafar. Jafar wants to use the magic lamp to become the Sultan and the ruler of Agrabar. Aladdin becomes trapped in the cave of wonders and accidentally discovers the resident of the lamp. Aladdin develops a relationship with the Genie and uses his wishes to become a prince to chase the affections of Princess Jasmine. When Jafar finally steals the lamp and gets three wishes of his own, Aladdin must rely on his intelligence to trick Jafar and save his friends and the Kingdom.
Aladdin is adapted and directed by Elton John Duffy, who has been producing Children`s Theatre and delighting audiences for the past 20 years.
