- One World Hotel receives International Star for Leadership in Quality Award  at B.I.D. International Quality Award 2013 in Paris

One World Hotel Petaling Jaya once again is honoured to be among the winners of the prestigious international award at the recent Business Initiatives Direction (B.I.D.) Award held in a glamourous affair inParison July 1. The Chairman and CEO of Business Initiative Directions (B.I.D) presented the ‘International Star for Leadership in Quality Award in the Gold Category’ to the hotel director, Dato’ Teo Chiang Hong.

 

The award was given based on criteria outlined, in recognition of the Excellence in Leadership and Business Management, Quality and Excellence, Business and Brandname Prestige; and Technology, Innovation and Expansion. The 25th International Star for Leadership in Quality Award is part of the annual programme organised by the B.I.D. designed to recognize the prestige of the outstanding companies, organizations, and leaders in the business world. One World Hotel received a Gold Category trophy and a certificate of Quality Award and also the first independent hotel inMalaysia to receive such distinguished award.

 

Based in Madrid, Spain, the B.I.D organises International Quality Conventions yearly in London, Geneva, Frankfurt, Madridand New Yorkand 8 different awards and trophies are presented in each city to recognise the success of the awarded company. The International Star for Leadership in Quality Award consisting of Gold, Platinum and Diamond categories, were participated by both international and multinational companies (some are listed in the Global Fortune 500) as well as business leaders from 178 countries. The International BID Awards are presented on the basis of the criteria of the QC100 TQM (Total Quality Management), associated with the International Star for Leadership in Quality Award, in which the contents serve as guidelines to business leaders to improve processes and systems and to strengthen their position for long-term success by focusing on customer satisfaction. QC100 refers to Quality Commitment to the 100 points of quality contained in the model, which are divided into 10 areas covering all of the levels of company operation.

Also present at the award presentation were remarkable business leaders, professionals from various industries and representatives from the diplomatic corps.
