I’ve written extensively about hotel programs like Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts and Virtuoso, which offer extra perks for stays at luxury hotels.
There are some other programs out there as well, which are worth knowing about. One of those programs has an amazing promotion at the moment.
Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection benefits
One of the other hotel programs out there is the Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection, which includes over 900 properties around the world. This program is open to those with Visa Signature & Visa Infinite cards, which includes products like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card, British Airways Visa Signature® Card, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards® Credit Card, etc.
For booking through this program you get the following perks:
Best available rate guarantee
Automatic room upgrade upon arrival, when available
Complimentary in-room Wi-Fi, when available
Complimentary continental breakfast daily
$25 USD food or beverage credit
VIP Guest status
3PM check-out upon request, when available
In general I don’t write about the program that much because I tend to think there are better ways to book, but at the moment they have an incredible promotion.
Enjoy a complimentary night with Conrad, Curio, or Waldorf Astoria
This promotion almost seems too good to be true. At the moment the Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection is offering a complimentary night when you book a stay at over 50 participating Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, and Curio hotels.
The promotion is valid for bookings made through December 31, 2016, and for stays through March 31, 2017.
The basic terms of this promotion are as follows:
Offer must be booked at one of the 50 participating Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts™, Conrad Hotels & Resorts™, or Curio – A Collection by Hilton™ (“Participating Hotels”) by December 31, 2016, for stays through March 31, 2017 with an eligible Visa Premium card through a Visa Luxury Hotel Collection website or Visa Concierge. Minimum 2-night consecutive stay required. Free night will be the rate for the last night of the stay inclusive of associated taxes and fees and will be deducted at the hotel upon check-out. Maximum one free night per room, per stay. Back-to-back stays within 24 hours at the same hotel are considered one stay, regardless of check-out and check-in activity. Offer is subject to availability at the time of booking. Offer cannot be combined with any other offers or packages unless otherwise specified. Normal occupancy and cancelation policies apply. Hilton Worldwide and Visa reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to withdraw, cancel, modify, amend, suspend or terminate the offer, in whole or in part, in any way, at any time, for any reason, without prior notice or any liability to any person.
To take advantage of this offer you’ll want to book the hotel through the promotion page. For example, here’s the promotion page for the Waldorf Astoria Park City.
After you enter your dates you’ll see the “Stay 2 — Enjoy a Free Night” deal listed, which also includes the other standard benefits, like a $50 breakfast credit per day, $25 food & beverage credit, room upgrade, etc.
With this rate the cost of the second night will be subtracted at check-out, so the total would end up being $249 for the two night stay, or ~$125 per night, which is a steal for this property.
You can take advantage of this promotion as often as you’d like, though you can’t use it for back-to-back stays (meaning you need at least one night between stays at a given hotel to take advantage of this offer).
Furthermore, you should still earn elite stay credits and Hilton points for these stays (so be sure you also register for Hilton’s double points promotion if you’re staying before the end of the year).

Get a $75 gift card as well… maybe?
As if the above promotion wasn’t generous enough already, you can also possibly get a $75 gift card after completing a stay. The promotion page for enjoying a complimentary night has a link saying “Book by November 30 and also receive a $75 USD Visa gift card.”
When you get to that promotion page you’ll see an offer for a $75 gift card after booking a stay by November 30, 2016, and completing the stay by February 28, 2017. This offer can only be taken advantage of once, though is valid at all the same hotels as the other promotion. The gift card will be mailed to you within six weeks of when you complete your stay, and no registration is required to take advantage of this promotion.
In theory it’s possible that the promotions can’t be combined, though there’s no registration required for this offer, so hopefully the gift card still arrives. Given that the two promotions are cross-promoted and specifically use the word “also,” I suspect you should be able to qualify for both.
Is this the promotion Visa is intending to offer?
This promotion seems too good to be true given how generous it is. Buy one get one free, plus a $75 gift card, plus free breakfast and a $25 credit, etc.
Nowadays we see a lot of poorly worded promotions, so some think Visa might be trying to offer a “buy two, get one free” promotion here.
In theory I could see that being the case, though every aspect of the promotion, including the terms, suggests that if you stay two nights you get the cost of the last night refunded.
Furthermore, when you get to the booking page the promotion automatically shows up when you search for a two night stay. Meanwhile when you search for a one night stay, the promotion doesn’t show up. So if this promotion is an error, it’s not just that the verbiage is wrong, but it’s also coded incorrectly — I’d feel pretty confident taking advantage of this promotion.
Bottom line
This is probably the best hotel promotion we’ve seen all year. If you have a US issued Visa Signature or Visa Infinite card, you can get a buy one get one free stay at a Conrad, Curio, or Waldorf Astoria property, which is incredible. On top of that you’ll get added perks, and possibly even a $75 gift card after your first stay.
I’m shocked by how generous the promotion is, so I’d certainly book sooner rather than later, just in case they change their mind about the promotion.
Will you be taking advantage of this incredible Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection promotion?
