Every child likes the newest, latest, coolest gadget and gizmo, right?
Here a couple ideas of new products that are just hitting the store shelves:
These two new "techie" toys arrived for us to try out, and we are excited to tell you about them...so you can add them to your kid's Christmas wish list.
The first one we tried tonight, had the kids super excited! 3D printers and the such are all the rave right now! This 3D Maker takes a gel like liquid, some molds, a curer (kind of like an easy bake oven) and after waiting patiently for a few minutes, you pop the hardened pieces out and construct your 3D objects together. Seems simple enough, right? It really is THAT SIMPLE!
We loved how the sea turtle came out. It also comes with a couple pieces of flat plastic, so you can design your own 3D project...our daughter made a dolphin (she is a bit obsessed) and they even wrote out their names and words. We even got a little goofy and I used a piece of the cured gel as a faux beard!
It comes with three colors of the liquid and several different stencils, like the turtle, a car, a bridge, a helicopter, etc. The only thing I found a little frustrating is that it doesn't come with enough of the liquid to really create a LOT of things. So your kids will only have about 2 completed projects before they will be out and need a refill of the liquid. With six kids, this could really be a quickly escalating problem! Aside from that, this 3D Maker was very fun, everyone loved getting into the creative time and we wished would have made even more with it...
The Storytime Theater is something that the younger guys were excited about. This projector wirelessly connects to an app you download on your ipad or tablet. which just takes a few minutes! Once you've got it installed, you can project the interactive Disney stories onto a wall, the ceiling or wherever you'd like.
It reads to you the interactive story, gives you the option to read it yourself, etc.
The story lasts about 5 minutes and is very colorful and entertaining. It comes with the Buzz Lightyear "Buzz' Space Adventure" Press N Play story!
There are several other stories that you can download or purchase the "Press N Play"story with the character to hear others. These stories cost about $7.99 to download directly from the app store and they have several Disney stories to purchase. I think this product is awesome and is a great learning device for reading or the perfect "before bedtime" story...but I must admit that the price of the stories is a little high, for a five minute interactive story. However, if your child likes to hear the same story over and over again, and is a HUGE fan of the Disney characters, this would be a great Christmas present for them and they really will love it!
