One of the premiere music events of 2016 will take place at 8 p.m. Feb. 29 and March 1 in Weigel Hall Auditorium, 1866 College Road, when the School of Music hosts the Contemporary Music Festival. The festival includes a pair oh headline concerts, including an appearance by the world-renowned Bang On A Can all-stars (seen above) on Feb. 29. The opening night will also feature works by Pulitzer Prize-winning composers David Lang and Julia Wolfe and works by Phillip Glass and Michael Gordon. On March 1, the festival will continue with works by central Ohio composers and guest composer David Lang, co-founder of Bang on a Can All-Stars and one of the most-performed contemporary American composers. This concert will feature ensembles from the School of Music and special guest ensembles CODE and the Tower Duo.
