Last night in Brooklyn the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) announced the finalists for their 2017 awards amid much fanfare and bourbon. More festivities to come when the winners are announced on March 5th in Louisville, KY.
Many of my favorites from 2016 are among the nominees, including Pacific Northwest local Naomi Pomeroy's Taste & Technique and Mastering the Art of Japanese Home Cooking by Masaharu Morimoto whose restaurant in Chelsea Market blew my mind last year.
Below are the finalists in seven categories (for the full list of categories and nominees see the IACP award page), including International, Chefs & Restaurants, and Children, Youth and Family. Check back on March 5th for the winners.
