My Thoughts on the World of Love Charm Bracelet:
Not all charm bracelets are treated equally, and we wouldn’t want them to be! There is certainly a place for a beautiful Pandora bracelet, but in the same way I don’t use my nice dish towels to wipe up a Koolaid spill, or allow my children to use my more favorite paint brushes, there are times when a costume replica is more appropriate. I am not ready to give my children a Pandora bracelet – I’m not even ready to purchase one for myself, but the World of Love charm bracelet is a great alternative.
Charm jewelry has been big on the market for some time now. It is simple and beautiful, but more, it is a way to tell others who you are and what you are about, without shouting it from the roof tops. You can make a bracelet or necklace about your family, your hobby, or both. That’s why we all love it so much! The World of Charm bracelet is no different.
The bracelet comes with glass charms similar to Italian charms. With the three charms you will find a beautifully floral design of small flowers and leaves with a modern flare. Are they truly Murano glass beads from Italy? I wanted to know too, so I compared the patterns and flowers in the beads. None of them are the same and the pattern is definitely in the glass, not over paper or some other medium. Today the Murano bead name is more a statement of a few different styles of glass beads than a bead quality. Murano is a location in Italy where there are many glass artisans. The glass work has been around since 1291, and has, of course, expanded significantly between then and now. The Italian art form is well-known around the world. I have also discovered there are some Murano beads made in China. Each of the beads, on the bracelet, is marked with a 925 and are a nice enough quality for me; whether they are made in Italy or China, they are beautiful!
Besides the glass beads, you will find two silver plated beads with black and white enamel hearts and two silver beads with black antiquing that magnifies the gleam of the pink rhinestone crystals in the beads. You’ll also find two sliver plated turtle charms, two modern-looking dog charms, and two silver plated beads with black antiquing. The barrel clasp is engraved with the word “LOVE” and is opened with your fingernail. It may be tight at first, but the more it is opened the less it sticks. I like how mine came with a tight closing clasp.
Remember how I said this charm bracelet is customizable? It is! On the end of the bracelet there is a bead that cannot be removed from the bracelet unless you know to twist it! Twist it in the right direction and it will come of the bracelet allowing all the other charms to come off as well! Add or change the charms as you desire. When you are done, twist the same bead back on, and none will come off until you decide to make a change again!
The bracelet had a strong snake chain, this combined with the barrel clasp, leads me to believe it is nearly indestructible. Of course, it is totally still lose-able. However, the cost is low enough, a replacement bracelet would never be much of a concern! It’s like a decent quality paint brush that’s easy to replace.
Sizing is something you’ll want to watch with this charm jewelry. It comes in 18 cm and 20 cm, which is approximately 7 and 7.5 inches. The beads are not flat on your wrist; they do take up some of the diameter. If you or your daughter normally wear a 7″ bracelet, but usually have no more than an eighth of an inch to spare, you will definitely want to move up to the 20 cm bracelet. I would probably move up if you only have a quarter of an inch to spare.
This is a beautiful bracelet, at a great price, you can feel good buying, whether for yourself, your daughter, or a friend.
