The NFL Scouting Combine is wrapping up today, but Saturday may have been one of the best days of this years Combine.
Nebraska’s Kenny Bell and Ameer Abdullah both had solid days going through the drills on Saturday and both hopefully boosted their draft stock come April. Here’s a recap of the two Nebraska stars day:
Ameer Abdullah
The senior was one of 36 running backs to participate in drills on Saturday as this years running back class is one of the deepest ever. Here’s his Combine results:
40-yard dash: 4.61
Bench Press (225 pounds): 24 reps
Vertical jump (inches): 42.5
Coleman dominated the bench press part on Friday putting up 24 reps compared to 22 from Alabama’s TJ Yeldon and Indiana’s Tevin Coleman.
Ameer Abdullah did 24 reps on the bench. That's impressive.
Yeldon, Coleman – 22
Gordon – 19

As for his 40-yard dash time, here is how he compared to other prospects:
Ameer Abdullah follows his 4.61 with a 4.62. Also, Melvin Gordon 4.52 and 4.53, Braylon Heard 4.63 and 4.64, Jeremy Langford 4.43 and 4.43

#Nebraska RB Ameer Abdullah's explosive ability seems to show up more in his jumps (eg 42.5" vert) than 40 time. Also nice 10-yard splits.

Still worried about Ameer Abdullah's forty? Ridiculous explosion and change of direction tests. pic.twitter.com/YDtu9oSGBA

More reactions to Abdullah’s Combine:
Ameer Abdullah on Randy Gregory: “He’s a freak of nature. … One of the best athletes I’ve ever seen." pic.twitter.com/ltXUm0JrmT

Add me to the list of Ameer Abdullah fans. What a sensational interview. Hope he becomes a playmaker at the next level.

Ameer Abdullah in the Pats offense, would be the sci-fi version of Kevin Faulk. That’s the type of RB they need.

Kenny Bell
Bell also went up against a pretty solid Wide Receiver class at the Scouting Combine. Here’s how he fared:
40-yard dash: 4.42
Bench Press (225 pounds): 7 pounds
Vertical jump (inches): 41 1/2
The wide receiver didn’t have a strong showing in the bench press part, but made up for it in other areas.
Kenny Bell, by request. Odd looking due to bench. pic.twitter.com/hjI5vFrJ6E

ICYMI – Kenny Bell had a pretty good combine. Here's his RSP Film Room: http://t.co/L7EBSfQLYT

Lot of Kenny Bell talk after a pretty good combine for him. I'm not a huge fan, don't see anything special. But he can produce in NFL
