The RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer) was really the first rebuildable to hit the market. Being so simple in design it was easy to mod one up back in the day. And if you looked at the ones made even just 2 year back you will see a much simpler design compared to today’s RDA’s. After the first major designs of the RDA the market flatlined for about a year. Everything looked the same. Some were a little shorter some a little taller but basically the base was basically the same 2-3 post design.
But lately the community has been wanting more and the designers have been wanting more. So things are changing again. And I think for the better.
SWMO Bosun
Two words WIDE OPEN
The Bosun or Bo’sun (depending on who you ask) is an amazing new RDA by a little known company SWMO. This Dripper is almost what you would call the perfect RDA(In my opinion.).
To start the Bosun features a dual velocity style posts/build deck. Each post sports a 2.5mm hole allowing you to fit just about anything you want in there. In most cases you will have a ton of extra space left over.
The juice well on the Bosum is deep. How deep? about 8mm Deep by 17mm Diameter. That is almost an RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomizer) at that point
The airflow on the Bosun is also pretty impressive. It’s a little tricky to describe but basically it collects and points the airflow directly onto the coils. This produces amazing flavor and vapor production. Oh and the top and side airflow is completely adjustable. This allows you to fine tune your vape.

Reinventing Airflow Designs
The first thing you will notice about the SteamCrave Aromamizer V-RDA is the clear window with corkscrew looking top cap section. At first glance it looks like a tank or RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomizer). Make no mistake the V-RDA is a RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer) but with a whole new way of viewing airflow delivery.
The Fins on the top cap create a vortex of air that helps aid in flavor and cloud production and also keeps the coils cooler by swirling air evenly around the fins and vortex feature. I have heard mixed reviews on the effectiveness of the vortexing. Some say they notices a difference while others didn’t notice anything. They do say however that the airflow is great, flavor is great and all that good stuff you wanna hear.
The deck features dual solid velocity posts with a milled negative post. The juice well is also deep, probably not as deep as the Bosun but deep enough.
Lastly the V-RDA is Squonk Box ready. If you don’t know the Squonk box is a box mod that has the juice inside the mod and the RDA sucks up the juice through the middle. Anyway it does that also. Cool.

The Hobo Customs Drifter RDA has been a long time in the making. Touted as having the most innovative air slots to date. The Drifter features machined angled cyclops air inlets around the perimeter that points the airflow directly under the coils producing amazing flavor and vapor.
Sporting a quad post build deck with shelf style negative posts. This makes for a very a solid looking deck. The split positive post features dual 2mm terminals that allow for fitting a ton of wire sizes.
The juice well is a massive 7mm deep allowing you to vape for a while without needing to drip again. While at the same time staying a relatively small RDA only 22mm X 21mm the Drifter is a great little RDA that feels solid and produces the flavor and clouds one could ask for.

A Classic is Back with a Vengeance
The TugBoat has actually been out for a few months we are just now getting to it. But ITS BACK. The Tugboat V3 has a massive build area. Moving from the traditional three post deck to a dual post build deck. The post have 2mm holes and the wire is secured via the allen screws. The deck also got an upgrade with PEEK insulators to greater heat insulation.

The popular Rafale In RDA form Shows us a new way to coil
The UWell Rafale X Rda is a spinoff of the extremely popular and very impressive as far as performance goes Sub-Ohm Tank. But the Uwell Rafale isnt just another RDA. The X RDA takes us down a road where 4 coils are actually 2 and something called a Dummy Post?
To start the Rafale X RDA is a builders RDA” (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer). Sure you can just build a normal coil, vape it and be happy. But The X RDA features a Dummy Post that does not pass current, it’s “Neutral”. What this does is allow you to build a 4 coil build but not get the insane low resistance that would normally bring. So basically you get twice the surface area without the extra heat. You can remove the neutral post if you want and run the X RDA just like a normal dual post RDA with a ton of Room now with the missing middle post.
The airflow on the Rafale X RDA adjustable for basically “Two modes” 1 flavor mode and 1 cloud mode. More or less You just open up the air more or less.

Introducing The V Post Design
The Wismec Indie Duo RDA is a new collaboration between Jabo and Wismec. The makers of the popular Reuleaux Box Mod. A few things make this RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer) innovative and that is the special Y Deck and the dual top caps for various vaping experiences.
To start the Indie Duo comes with two top caps. The First is a top down airflow 30mm Cap that creates a vortex much like the Steam Crave Aromamizer V-RDA you read about above. The Second top cap is a 22mm smaller cap with Side airflow.
Now for the posts. This is where we get tricky. The Wismec Indie Duo RDA features what they call a Y Shaped Post. Basically You have a “Y” This is the positive post. Under the arms of the “Y” you have the two negative blocks/posts that are milled to the deck.(Seen in Fig:2 above) This is a really unique design and it’s suppose to give you more options for building with the added Positive Post.
