Felicity has obviously suffered a pretty major loss. Is she going to take some time off, or does she throw herself right back into work?
I think we actually wanted to do something different this year with her, and Felicity has always been super smart, super capable, but she fundamentally never really had something that’s her own. I think what this is, this is going to kick her off on this revenge story and she’s going to experience a lot of what Oliver experienced in the first season, in the sense that she’s going to on a pretty dark path towards revenge. I think it’s going to be less about throwing herself into her work and more about how she’s going to avenge Malone’s death and get Prometheus once and for all, because she knows he’s the one ultimately responsible for what happened.

@oliverdant quoted part of this yesterday, and it reminded me of something that I noticed in 5.10.
The articles that came out (and the promo that came out) talked about Felicity wanting vengeance against Prometheus for Billy’s death. But in the episode, it seemed like Oliver jumped to that conclusion. Felicity wanted to go after Prometheus, and she took a risk by releasing Black Siren in order to get a lead on him. But I think Oliver was the only one who ascribed a motive to Felicity’s actions - who promised to get “justice for Billy.” (I think? Correct me if I’m wrong.)
It also occurred to me that the questions in the interviews all start by assuming that Felicity is distraught - like this one, asking if Felicity will take time off, or other ones that asked if Felicity would blame Oliver for Billy’s death.
I’m bringing this up, because in 5.14, we’re going to be seeing other repercussions of Billy’s death. The Green Arrow (who also happens to be the mayor) killed a police detective and member of the anti-crime unit (who reported to the mayor). And the DA is keeping that fact secret. And the media (well, one member of the media who shall remain nameless) keeps poking at the secret.
And the secret of who killed Billy Malone is coming out this week.
And Felicity hasn’t really started using Helix to go after Prometheus. Yet.

If I may add @slowcookedvig.. Susan is investigating the death of Malone who she met in 5.09 and knows is the new boyfriend of Felicity Smoak Oliver’s ex-fiance.. she knows Oliver is the GA.. she know the GA killed Malone.. how will she handle that?? Will she accuse Oliver of killing Billy over his feelings for Felicity? Will she connect the dots? Will she investigate Felicity now? Will she consider her complicit?
Pretty interesting…I can’t wait for the next episode…
