Our Lady of Good Counsel’s Fine Arts Department Presents Their 2013 Spring Production

The Our Lady of Good Counsel High School Fine Arts Department is pleased to present our spring musical production, Les Misérables. A musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, based on the novel by Victor Hugo. Set in 19th-century France, a nation in the grip of revolution, Les Misérables tells the story of ex-convict Jean Valjean who is on the run. For decades he is hunted by the ruthless policeman Javert for breaking parole. But Valjean must leave his past behind when he agrees to care for the young orphan – Cosette, the daughter of Fantine, a factory worker. In the midst of the revolution and with Javert closing in on them, Jean Valjean must fight for his life and sacrifice everything to protect those he loves. A story of sacrifice, redemption, passion, broken dreams and unrequited love, it is an attestation to human endurance. The lives of Valjean and Cosette are changed forever. Featured songs include, “I Dreamed A Dream”, “Bring Him Home”, “One Day More” and “On My Own”
