Key Requirements
As a minimum the candidate will:
• Have a Higher National or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics or a similar
technical or scientific discipline.
• Experience in well engineering, including extensive experience in Completion and Well Intervention operations
and completion design.
• Have experience of project management.
• Have experience integrating technical and business activities on multi-discipline projects. The experience should
extend to supervising technical activities.
• Be responsible for own development and will execute a personal development plan in conjunction with line
supervisor and staff planner
• Maintain minimum safety certification to satisfy the requirements of the position. (Offshore survival, medical etc)
Job Description
Principal Accountabilities
In delivering and maintaining subsea, platform and land wells the candidate shall:
• Provide exemplary HS&E Leadership to ensure that Corporate Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Policies and Initiatives
are disseminated, understood, and applied to all Completion and Well intervention activities.
• Ensure Health Safety & Environmental risks are clearly identified and mitigated throughout implementation of the Global
Well Delivery Process for all Completion and Well Intervention related activities.
Planning and Organisation
• Implement best practice controls and processes to safeguard the technical integrity, economic interest and reputation of
Upstream International Europe (UIE) Assets, in respect of Well Completion Design and Completion and Well Intervention
project delivery.
• Liaise with other disciplines to ensure design solutions are optimal to give maximum value whilst meeting critical well
objective criteria.
• Ensure technical specification of completion and including subsea wellhead/Xmas tree systems meets the project functional
specification to meet the well objectives, supporting standardisation of equipment where possible.
• Ensure all specialist expertise input is given throughout Well Delivery Process to optimise design for all sub-sea, land and
platform completions and interventions.
• Application of approved software tools (Wellcat), for Completion and Completion and Well Intervention design procedures.
• Ensure timely ordering of long lead equipment to meet project timings.
• Implement measurable performance critical criteria and the Business Improvement plans.
• Implement Upstream International Europe (UO) well technology plan, the Global Well Delivery Process and ensure all
proposed equipment complies with Completion Equipment Review Team (CERT) and Intervention Equipment Review Team
(IERT) processes.
• Ensure cross asset and operating unit PEER assist, challenge and learning and effective lateral learning (internal and
external)
• Produce work execution programmes in accordance with the Upstream International Europe (UO) well delivery process.
• Ensure accurate storage of information and data relating to Well files and well data, in line with Upstream International
Europe (UO) procedures
Operations
• Provide routine and emergency technical input and support for well related activities • Monitor platform based completion and intervention operations.
• Support optimisation of Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) allocation and production build up from Capex and Operational
Expenditure (Opex) well activities
Principal Tasks
Without compromise to corporate health, safety and environmental standards and in accordance with Statutes, Regulations and Company Policies, the candidate is responsible and accountable for:
• Delivery of optimum completion designs for land, platform and sub-sea wells to meet agreed schedules, maximising value
across Upstream International Europe (UO).
• Delivery of wells that are fit for their intended purpose on time, within budget.
• Implement Realise the Limit (rDtL) tools and techniques across all completion and well intervention projects.
• Business Improvement through implementation of the Business and Technology plans.
• Ensure adherence to global standards and application of Upstream International Europe (UO) Global Well Delivery Process.
• Support completion component standardisation and cross asset equipment utilisation to give maximum value across
Upstream International Europe (UIE).
• Encourage and support lateral learning’s in support of completion and intervention design.
• Provide troubleshooting support to the platform teams during execution activities; provide troubleshooting support to the
asset during operation of the wells.
