Our Client is an Aberdeen based Oil , Gas & Renewable Energy consultancy business. Due to an ever increasing business base, our client has an immediate requirement for a number of Safety Engineers. These are full time contracted employed roles ONLY.

Our client has three significant divisions, amongst these is the Safety Engineering and Risk Management division which was formed to cater for the increasing demand in Safety Engineering and Risk Management services for the Oil & Gas industry.

Our client strongly believes that it is crucial for the oil and gas operators to ensure that Safety Engineering and Risk Management aspects are applied smartly throughout the life-cycle of an oil and gas installation (i.e. from a new built to ageing installation).

Their client list is impressive and includes global exploration & production companies.

Key Requirements

Qualifications:
Degree in engineering discipline otherwise a
sound understanding of principles and work experience would also be
considered.

Skilled in the application of Microsoft office systems.

The right to work in the UK.

Preferable to have Offshore, Safety, Onshore, Oil and Gas, HAZOP,
HAZID, Risk Assessment, and Risk Analysis experience.

Essential Experience:
At least 4 years experience working in the technical safety engineering or
process safety disciplines of projects or onshore/offshore oil & gas operations.

Experienced in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and
relevant sections of statutory documentation.

Highly experienced in the use of design and assessment methods used
within discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs.

Key attributes being sought from experienced applicants should be
focused around risk management and could include experience in topics such as HAZOP, HAZID, FMEA, QRA, ALARP Demonstrations, SIL assessments,
Fire and Explosion Risk Analysis (FERA), Safety Case Development, etc.

Experienced in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting.

Competent in commercial contractual and administrative aspects of
engineering.

Experiences in working with other disciplines and sections to meet
delivery dates

Experienced in design safety / environmental requirements, procedures
and responsibilities for both self and subordinates.

Competent in leading, supervising and the organization of a small /
medium sized single discipline team within a project.

Able to lead in motivation, training and on-going development of subordinates.

Able to perform a major role in setting group / discipline objectives.

Experience of facilities design and analysis is preferable incorporating knowledge
of topsides & sub-sea facilities, pipelines and controls, etc.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Prioritize and support process & technical safety reviews, including Major

Accident Risk,

QRA, HAZID, HAZOP, Project HSE Stage Gate Reviews and other

technical safety related audits and reviews of existing plants and projects.

Produce various safety engineering (and legislative compliance) studies.

Be part of Safety Team and attend kick-off meetings, progress and design

review meetings for the project or change proposal designs.

Preparation of CTR estimates for the safety engineering studies.

Delivering quality, cost effective and timely engineering services in a

demanding environment of change, short interval planning and conflicting priorities.

Participation in incident investigations and provide root cause analysis

support particularly where technical and/or process safety issues are

involved.

Support Safety Case Maintenance.

The development of technical safety engineering and process safety

aspects of major projects in the oil and gas industry or related industries.

Thorough understanding and application of quantified and qualified risk

management techniques including specific scenario modelling.

You may be accountable for provision of process safety engineering

advice and support on all aspects of onshore and offshore operations,

projects including new developments, and to ensure Technical Safety

Engineering discipline regulatory and company standards compliance,

optimum business performance and appropriate levels of discipline

engineering capability.
