Job Description

Our client has a strong focus on the growing deepwater subsea umbilical, riser and flowline markets in Africa, Asia Pacific, Brazil and the Gulf of Mexico as well as a leading role in the North Sea. Employing over 5,000 personnel onshore and offshore they are one of the world's leading subsea engineering and construction companies servicing the Oil & Gas industry

As Design Lead your main responsibilities will include

Ensure that an appropriate level of CAD detail is applied to engineering designs
Ensure that ease of manufacture is considered during engineering design
Advise engineering manager on appropriate CAD tools for engineering developments
Ensure that CAD tools are used in an appropriate manner to allow efficient transition to drawing office personnel
Development and review of 3D modelling technologies for use in animations, visualisations and simulations
Support for 3D modelling for efficient transfer between CAD and simulation packages
Development of 3D models and animations for sales and marketing and project documentation purposes

Qualifications and Education
Essential:
Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification

Experience
Essential:
Extensive knowledge of the development, use and support of 2D and 3D CAD systems.
Extensive knowledge of engineering software tools relating to CAD design.
Understanding of the support requirement for storage and control of 3D animations and models for simulation applications across a global organisation.
Knowledge of 3D animation and modelling software.
Knowledge and understanding of ROV and intervention tooling system development.
Ability to produce 3D models and animations for simulation applications.
