Completions Supervisor for Drilling department
I am presently looking for a highly experienced Completions professional to take on the position as Completions Supervisor with a reputable Operator based in KL. The candidate must have a high level of experience in the supervision of Completions Operations. The position is a permanent staff position and offers many opportunities for career progression. Some of the responsibilities which the successful candidate will be responsible for include:
Responsibilities
*Collect well data and work closely with Asset's multi-disciplinary teams to establish appropriate
conceptual completion design from sand face to surface. Analyze associated installation risks and well
intervention requirements to arrive at optimum balance of cost-effectiveness, risk (safety) and value
(reserve gain).
*Perform various engineering studies and analysis (e.g. specifications of completion equipment -
including wellhead and Xmas tree, downhole safety valve, downhole completion equipment, flow
control devices - geo-mechanic study, metallurgy study, tubing load analysis) to design suitable
completion hardware for expected well conditions (plus contingency plan) for new wells and workover
wells.
*Plan and manage preparation and testing of various completion equipment, sub-assemblies and
running/retrieving tools suitable for running on drilling rig.
*Prepare specific well completion programs, well completion reports, AFE cost estimates and efficient
scheduling to comply with the overall field development plan and/or objectives of exploration drilling
campaign.
*Ensure that equipment is properly rigged and tested under safe, proper pressure control principles
and procedures on drilling rig.
*Liaise with Procurement Department to procure various completion equipment with surplus and spare
parts through proper, cost- & time-effective modes, in compliance with procurement policies.
*Prepare contracts for completion equipment and services according to departmental contract
strategies.
*Prepare Invitation to Bid (ITB) and participate in bids evaluation and selection of contractors
regarding completion equipment and services.
*Coordinate with concerned parties to plan and assure prompt delivery and availability of equipment in
time. Track logistics of equipment delivery to meet work schedule.
*Monitor well completion operation performance and perform regular safety audits.
*Provide timely and accurate information on operational status and any deviations from plans,
programs, policies, procedures and guidelines for consideration and analysis.
*Facilitate short & long term planning and scheduling of personnel, equipment and services required.
*Maintain regular contact with contractors to ensure mutual understanding of operational requirements
as well as to identify opportunities for quality improvements.
*Diagnose and troubleshoot well problems, as well as provide supports and contingency plans to well
completion operations, to optimize and minimize non-productive time and delay in work schedule.
*Coordinate with Senior Well Services Engineer for supervision of any well intervention operations so
desired on drilling rig.
*Responsible for revision of Completion Standing Instructions, taking into account various lessons
learned and feedbacks from all sides to enhance performance of future operations.
Requirement
*Possess at least Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject
*8-10 years experience in same function of a related industry, preferably in a multi-disciplinary
environment.
*Engineering expertise in all related disciplines in well completion such as geology, reservoir, drilling,
production, etc. Supervisory skills, team-leading ability, knowledge in project management.
*Good communication skills to liaise with other discipline specialists.
*Good knowledge of computer applications.
