Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Maintenance/Electrical Technician, based in Ross-shire.
Job Description
We are looking for Maintenance/Electrical Technicians with manufacturing or process-based electrical experience to join our client's team in the Highlands.
These roles are based on days (Mon-Fri, 44 hours), but candidates must be able to move onto a shift pattern if necessary.
As part of a dedicated Maintenance team, carry out a key role providing Maintenance support to both new and existing plant, in order to maintain operational viability.
Maintain and improve our plant and equipment to achieve optimum levels of efficiency, output, and quality and safety
Complete scheduled inspection/maintenance activities and ensure adequate information is recorded as required.
Assist as required with mechanical breakdowns, or other mechanical maintenance activities
Communicate as required with the Production Manager/Shift Leader/Team Leader before, during and after working on plant and equipment to maintain communication and ensure common understanding.
Complete Maintenance as required on all other electrical site facilities/infrastructure.
Complete data entry and interrogate the preventive maintenance system as required in order to ensure appropriate records are established and maintained.
Carry out all activities in a safe and tidy manner, leaving all working areas clean and tidy, in compliance with Environmental and Health & Safety requirements, and the 5S Principles.
Comply with all aspects of the Company's Health & Safety Policies and Procedures to minimise risk to self and others.
Participate in Process Improvement and Quality initiatives to enhance operational performance
Maintain records as requested to support process improvements
Skills & Experience
Minimum HNC, SVQ/NVQ level 2 or 3 or other equivalent in a relevant Electrical/Mechanical Discipline and/or recognised apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance.
Must have proven electrical maintenance experience within a process manufacturing environment.
Candidates who are multi-skilled with both electrical and mechanical experience and/or gas burner experience would be at a distinct advantage.
17th Edition IEE Regulations essential for Electricians. Experience in fault finding on systems/PLC's would also be desirable.
Knowledge and understanding of Production Operations and Processes.
Intermediate IT skills would be an advantage
Willing to gain and use new and different skills.
Experience in working to statutory and company requirements on Health & Safety, Quality and Environment.
Adaptability.
Evidence of setting high work standards and a commitment to quality.
Commitment to achieving and maintaining a high level of safety.
This is a permanent position.
The salary for this position is negotiable.
