As (Senior) Project/Alliance Manager, you will be directly responsible for the successful outcome of the overall project(s), including full profit and loss accountability for the Client account. You will provide Leadership to the multi-disciplined engineering and design team, supported by dedicated project engineering (scale dependent) and functional Technical Heads of Department, operating in a matrix management structure.

As Principal Client Liaison, you will be responsible for ensuring that the obligations of the contract between Client and the Company are fulfilled and for the management of the client relationship. Working within a matrix organisational structure or with a dedicated Project Task Force Team, you will manage a multi-discipline team dedicated to successful completion of the project, programme or long-term Alliance portfolio.

You will be responsible for co-ordinating with and drawing upon the functional resources of the Company to properly execute the project. Importantly you will represent the Company when dealing with the Client, as well as with other bodies such as suppliers, sub-contractors and government agencies. You will also play an active part with the development of the pharma-biotechnology business in UK/Ireland, supporting the acquisition of new work and the growth of the Company.

The (Senior) Project/Alliance Manager's function is to administer the contract and ensure that the project is planned, designed, procured, constructed and commissioned safely and within the time, cost, quality and performance specifications agreed with the Client. In an organisation where repeat business is highly valued your responsibilities toward achieving high client satisfaction are of paramount importance.

Skills & Experience

In this role the candidate will be expected to represent the company at senior levels and in public forums, hence a high level of interpersonal and communications skills are essential. The candidate should be able to impress the audience with his/her knowledge and capability.

Pharma or Biotech experience. Will be looking after multiple small projects on site ranging in value from £10M - 30M per annum.

Degree qualified/Chartered Eng is preferred with BSc in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering - membership of APM would be a big plus

A confident and capable presenter to audiences of all levels of seniority, as a significant part of the role will be supporting the company business development initiatives.

High organisational skills, commensurate with managing a large Multi-disciplinary team.

The candidate should have an outgoing personality who will develop contacts within the industry, whilst representing the company positively. Day-to-day management of the project team in accomplishing project objectives, including team-building, motivation, issue resolution and facilitation are essential skills, demanding prior experience of the scale of project, programme or Alliance portfolio delivery

This is a permanent position.

The salary for this position is £45,000 - £65,000
