Job Description

Complete in a timely manner all deliverables in Pre-operations, Commissioning and Start-up of the plant through into 1st year Operability.

Deliver business targets for HSE.

Implement the Operations Readiness Plan to ensure a competent workforce together with all necessary procedures, equipment and systems are available at start-up.

By Coaching and Assessing create individual and team performance through development, training, competency and motivation of the National Technicians to get them ready to run the SD2 Onshore Gas Plant.

Demonstrate safety Leadership and excellent safety behavior at all times.

Carry out safety audits during both the Project phase and first year operability.

Provide Operations input to HAZOPs, project design and risk reviews.

Ensure delivery with Operations Team of the process of Continuous Improvement.

Create National Technician individual and team performance through development, training, coaching and assessment.

Work with Operation Team Leader to build and implement all sections of the Operations Readiness Plan.

Work within the Team to develop and implement the Plant Operating Procedures.

Work within the Coaching Team to create the required training materials to aid coaching, assessing and development of the National Technicians.

Maintain own skills and demonstrate personal competence in line with Company and Industry guidelines (Technical and HSE)

During Project become part of the Plant Commissioning Team.

Act as a Performing Authority as required. Ensure correct Authorisation is in place.

Act as an Area Authority as required. Ensure correct Authorisation is in place.

Act as Isolating Authority when required. Ensure correct Authorisation is in place.

Act within the Emergency Response Team as required.

Help deliver the safe, efficient and timely start-up of the new plant and move it into first year operability.

Skills & Experience

Extensive experience within the offshore/onshore oil/gas or chemical industry.

Have sufficient Technical understanding of Projects, Commissioning, New Plant start-up, pipelines, high pressure gas and condensate facilities to be able to make informed decisions that ensure priorities are met and maintained.

Be able to recognize risks, hazards, losses and prevent conflicts between activities.

Have an excellent understanding of all aspects of Onshore High Pressure Gas Production Operations with an established and proven track record working in both Operations and Project environments.

Have experience as acting as a Performing Authority within a Permit to work system.

Have a proven track record of Coaching and assessment delivery.

Have a proven track record of Coaching of Operations Technicians using good influencing and communicating skills (including English).

Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills, self-motivation and the ability to work with the minimum of supervision showing a strong sense of team involvement, information sharing and mutual support.

Demonstrate the ability to coach and mentor National Technicians.

Work in a manner consistent with the operations philosophy of system ownership and with a heightened awareness of HSE.

Be able to work with other teams and team leaders through influencing and negotiation to avoid conflict and arrive at the best overall outcome from a business and HSE perspective.

Further requirements are open mindedness, the ability to challenge conventional methods of working and team demarcation lines and to examine options and possible solutions. Be able to motivate and engender these qualities in the teams.

Demonstrate recognition of the different cultural and behavioral aspects of dealing with a multinational/multilingual work force, and acting accordingly.

Have the ability to coach National Technicians to a high standard, covering all aspects of the role, in a timely manner.

Have experience of working at Sangachal Terminal

Have experience of working in developing countries, particularly coaching and training of National staff

Have experience of working in projects encompassing construction, commissioning and Start-up.

Have experience of working with complicated distributive control systems.

Experience working with large gas compression, Turbo Expander and Gas Turbine equipment.

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
